They're nothing alike in approach. I think in this case Koji-esque just refers to insane numbers like Koji had in 2013.

What made him so effective was combining the splitter with the fastball and excellent control. Kimbrel is less effective when his curve (or slider) isn't working. I believe that final Judge K was with his slider.

All three of those strikes were at the top of the zone and at about 99 mph. I was left wondering if Kimbrel had exposed a weakness in Judge's swing. Of course, a pitcher has to be able to throw 99 to exploit it!

Yes. Obviously they are two very different pitchers. I was referring to their ability to just shut the door on opposing batters.
