Sac bunt by Beni. Farrell is giving up already!

I'm not a huge fan of bunting to move the runner on 2B over to 3B but it worked out here

XB is giving me fits leading on 1B. Looks like he's going to get picked. I wish he got lower back to the bag

JBJ is one of the few players that is actually fun to watch play defense. Every game he makes a crazy catch it seems.

I feel your joy.

No homo.

Lots of "ifs" here, but if ERod or Porcello can finish the season pitching like an ace or a top #2, and Price and sale pitch like aces, I'm not sure we'll need a top 6 offense to make a strong run at a ring.

Add a productive CSmith or Thronburg, and we could be right up there with the other faves.

Price was outstanding and came up huge when the team really needed it. That's what an ace does. I know it's only one game, but I was on him a lot last year for not being able to do that. He deserves the praise and the credit. Great job!

I'm not a huge fan of the sac bunt at all, and I'm not sure I'd give up an out to Ubaldo, but I can't complain too much about it being done in that particular situation, and not just because it worked.

I'm not sure, but I think the difference between Price this year--so far--and Price last year is fewer straight fastballs and generally lower in the strike zone. In any case, last night he was masterful against a lineup that pummeled ERod the night before.

Right now the Sox have six starters--Sale, Price, Porcello, ERod, Pomeranz, and Johnson--who have all pitched at least one solid game. Pomeranz and Porcello have the same ERA, 4.24.

Plus a more than decent bullpen.

If the hitting comes around, despite the absence of Ortiz, the Sox could be tough. On the other hand, right now the Yankees are ranked 4th in MLB in runs scored and 5th in ERA. Their turnaround from last year is astounding.

A productive Smith and/or Thornburg and maybe they go after a hitter at the deadline instead of a reliever ( I initially thought they'd go after RP ). Not sure where they stand w/ the LT limit, but maybe they can address something on the offense side of things?

It's just that I question wasting an out to move a runner over who is already in scoring position. This year in particular, if we have a runner on 1B, a sac bunt I can tolerate to avoid the double play that has plagued us. One guy on, on 2B, isn't a double play situation... but it worked out so who am i to complain.

Yeah, of course a man on third base with one out can score without a hit. I'm not a big fan of bunting but I didn't mind it there with Beni struggling, X-Bo coming up, and perhaps above all another run very important at that point.
