Great base running by Ramirez while XB was running the bases dumb. It was a great piece of hitting by XB though. I don't understand why they are running into outs on the bases left and right.

I wouldn't say worse, the Orioles have a 3B who can occasionally make a defensive play without committing an error, we can't do that.

This team runs the bases and fields like idiots.. The Orioles announcers seemed to think it was a designed strategy by Xander, I refuse to believe that, It was just dumb and he got lucky lol.

Any of you coaching types know who screwed up on that play? Was the pitcher supposed to cover first? (I assume he had to back up third). Maybe there's just no tactic to prevent that? (Unless an outfielder gets involved). I guess 1B has to realize there's no one behind him, and can't let the runner pass him? Edited May 4, 2017 by jad

I would get Selsky up here for a try. He couldn't do worse. If he sucks, I think we have Matt Dominguez in the organization. He would be up next.

 

They don't even want Selsky as a back up 1B for Moreland who has played every game . I don't think they want him as a regular 3B. They aren't even giving him the chance 2suck. I agree , he can't do any worse.

So far 8 orioles batters, no K's by Kendrick, and not one single solidly hit ball by the bad guys. oh, and 23 pitches in 2 innings. that, ladies and gents, is how you get to the 7th and 8th innings as a starter. of course, the orioles haven't seen him before, so the second time thru the lineup could be tougher.

i'm sorry, but i think rutledge's two errors have both been errors in judgment. he tried to get guys out on very tough plays when the smart move was to hold onto the ball. on all the other plays he has looked fine to me,
