How's 'bout we use this thread for thread topic ideas and if there are any good ones then the Mods can curate them when applicable?

An honest try at answering the question raised by this thread. What about the thought the team has been unable to score a run in the regulation 9 innings for the last 3 games. What can be done? Should we be nervous this early in the season? I hope no one is suggesting we go out and pay big money for an extended contract to some has been slugger.

Well ok I'll play along and prepare for the lash back. When you aren't hitting and scoring you still have choices. Sit tight and wait for things to change or actually do some different things. If you can bunt - you bunt - If you can run- you run. If the lack of production continues, I would like to see them try a few different things to try to initiate some offense.

One again, what good is an interactive sports forum if it limits inquiry and discussion? How is this better than BDC? There was a great article about Aaron Hernandez/Gino Auriemma after the suicide. However based on the rigid rules here you would have to add it to a general category where it could not be easily found by most people on this board (Forum: Other Sports) Non-Baseball discussion. This should have been front and center this week and not the Buchholz nonsense from six months ago. Spudboy, sorry you don't need a safe space for Red Sox discussions. Your world won't wither if there are a dozen threads a day that relate to what people really want to share thoughts about. Examiner is 100% correct about how stale these threads are. Moon was the guy on BDC who started the most threads and despite his sabermetric ways, they were usually pretty good and fueled other discussions. Trolls will always come and go in chat rooms but to be so guarded against them just stifles meaningful exchanges imo. BTW here is the article if you haven't read it

I don't need a new thread for every thought that occurs to me. Likewise, everyone else on TS.

There is an organized system of threads and content here. We have one very good and fair Moderator. He does this part time.

I do think that discussion can become stale and sometimes there is so much redundancy I want to throw my laptop on the floor in frustration. But that is the nature of this beast and I accept that.

Saying unkind words about TS is really saying insulting things to it's members. I resent this.

A lot of work has gone into making TS a civilized place where anyone, including you, can say just about anything as long as it does not attack anyone else or it involves politics.

If this is not your cup of tea kindly keep your insults and your intolerance to yourself and move on.

Why should a baseball forum for Sox fans need threads about Aaron Hernandez? Edited by mvp 78

This forum sucks, sucks out loud and it's as boring as all get out. BDC was 1000% better. More entertaining, more traffic, more interesting, just better. I'm rarely even in here because about every time I come I see another boring stat cast type thread arguing sabermetrics or what the Sox fifth round pick should be. It's late April and I'm still on the Pats forum more than in here. There are threads on the FRONT PAGE in here that were posted last July. Enough said.

Forums come in all flavors Exam....this one is a bit more regulated than others, but its a private forum and the mods can manage it the way they see fit. I think that from a technical standpoint BDC totally sucked. Management heard the complaints, from what I hear, but did nothing to fix it. There were times we couldn't even get on to that forum. And there were trolls there who did their best to destroy it. Here there is more pure baseball discussed without the BS that went on at BDC. I don't know that I like either one *better*. They are/were just different.

We have been discussing the loser on at least one other thread. Not sure if the tittle mentions him but in any case anyone could have started such a thread at any time if they chose to do so.

So what is the issue?

There is no issue. Some people are only happy when they're bitching.
