Cubs/Dodgers looks like a tossup right now. Cubs have an edge in the pitchup matchup tonight, but there's also more pressure on them to win tonight because the Dodgers have Kershaw for Game 6 and Hill for Game 7.

If the Cubs do prevail in this series, they will have earned it. I do dislike the Dodgers but they have played good ball and are game.

I think that if the Dodgers win tonight, which they have a very good chance to do, they will end up winning the series.

 

At this point, I don't think I will be unhappy with whomever wins the World Series, though my preference goes Cubs, followed very closely by the Guardians, then the Dodgers.

Cubs just have to match Kershaw. They don't have to beat him. If they can suppress the Dodgers and work Kershaw's pitch count up, they can win late. The CHC pen is better than the LAD's

Jansen is a beast though. 7 from Kershaw and 2 from Jansen would be perfect for the Dodgers.

I'm pulling for the Cubs just because it's been longer for them, though I can't really pull against the Guardians. I wouldn't mind seeing either team win.

 

I'm just hoping for a fun, well played series. And 7 games would be nice.

The Red Sox component of this Cubs team is a little amazing. Theo, Rizzo, Lester and Lackey.

on the other hand Tito and Napoli have hardware from their Sox days too.

 

One thing that amuses me about this matchup is how much it really is Theo vs Tito. The cubs are a team that got here because of careful GM preparation in the offseason and has Theo's fingerprints all over it. Meanwhile the Guardians have been the story of a team whose preseason planning broke down with the injuries they sustained, but improvisation and strong managership kept them playing a little better than their opponents throughout this postseason.

 

If the Cubs win a lot of the credit goes to their stacked roster andbtherefore the GM, if the Tribe manages to pull through you are probably going to have to blame the manager for finding the ways to work around the holes in his roster and exploit favorable matchups. Either way it should be a fascinating series for Sox fans
