Interesting. Thanks for providing it. This is the 2d time we've seen this, putting Holt way up in 2d place to get a lefty bat in there early and a total of 5 in the lineup against a lefty starter.

 

The one thing I don't like about this lineup is HanRam following Ortiz, which makes it way too easy for the Jays to give Ortiz and IBB or simply to pitch carefully (and walk him anyway). Ramirez caught fire in September, but has cooled off. If you are a righty with a good slider, you own HanRam.

The Extra Innings Package really annoys me sometimes. Would it really kill them to start airing the broadcast 15 minutes early every now and then to let the fans see something as special as the tribute to Ortiz?

Yeah, that was lame. They literally waited till the ceremony was completely over to show the broadcast. At least, most of it was posted on twitter.

Talk about limping into the playoffs!!!! f*** you Farrell!. Now they hit the road in the playoffs. Farrell need's to be fired if they go 1 and done. This team took a lousy laid back approach after winning the division. Would be not be shocked if they go 1 and done in the playoffs and it

I couldn't post during the game. It was just a very emotional day, and the realization that I will never see Ortiz at Fenway again in the regular season is hitting me. He has been such a special player who has provided so many thrills.

 

I was at Yaz Day in 1983, and Yaz was my boyhoodidol, but with cable TV and MLB TV, I have watched more of Ortiz's ABs than probably any other player. For me, it it difficult to envision baseball without him.

 

Thank you, David "Big Papi" Ortiz! You will be missed.

Keep in mind Jays were playing for their playoff lives though. This series was more important to the Jays than it was to us. The series that killed us was the Yankees. We won 11 in a row and won the division. Not sure I agree with firing him even if we lose in the playoffs but I definitely understand the frustration. I don't have much confidence either right now especially with Cleveland winning 3 in a row and having home field advantage

While I'm sympathetic to the view the Sox are in trouble, I have difficulty putting that all on Farrell. The real problem in 4 of the 5 losses is that either Price blew it--the loss to the Yankees, or the bullpen did it--both losses to the Jays and one loss to the Yankees. In one game, granted, he put it a subpar lineup, but that was right after clinching the ALE and was understandable.

 

The simple fact is that the hitting--even with the "good guys" in the lineup--is fading and the bullpen is fading even faster and the Sox don't have the great starters to make up the difference. This especially applies to the bottom half of the order and specifically to JBJ and Leon.

Well, that whole ending the season thing could of went a bit better don't you think.....

 

At this point we have to hope that our guys are guys that rise to the occasion. They already have shown us in Sept they can do so. Both Vegas and I thinks they can.

 

We also maybe need new hats for the bats............ the recent hats aren't keeping the bats warm enough........

Us suckers on the MLB package don't get to see before the game starts or after...... so we missed the pregame celebration.

 

Just watched the Ortiz send off....... ugggg......... I loved that Manny showed among many others.....

 

it's not great for us he's leaving........ but I'm glad he is getting a send off like this and going out on top....

 

he's the best I've seen in my time....... and I don't think will be beat......

 

I loved hearing from the guys that visited the booth.....like Lowell and Pedro.

 

It isn't hard to tell we are seeing a historic moment right now and are lucky to be around to see it.....
