Be thankful that Yankee-loving bitch in the booth isnt an umpire. She thinks Sanchez got a double on that ball.

I'll catch hell for this but I have no idea who that woman in the booth is and what makes her qualified to comment on baseball. Did she play Milb? MLB?

No. College softball or something. Anyway, she sucks sweaty balls. To think, she replaced Shilling.

Some of her insights are good, and she obviously does her homework, but she cannot fill Schillings shoes when it comes to insights about pitching. The whole Sunday broadcast team is a bore.

For the JF lovers, he managed this series well. Whether or not they won those come from behind games, he gave them a chance to win by not sticking too long with faltering pitchers. Seven run rule be damned!

Yes. And tonight it was Girardi who "pulled a Farrell" by getting cute with Fatty in the 6th. I mean, how obsessed with lefty-lefty can you be? He should have yanked Fatty at about 100 pitches.

I have mentioned Pom's innings total since we got him. I mentioned it about two weeks ago and I mentioned it yesterday. No one here sees what I see, I guess. That guy is toast or he is just a soft tosser who throws too many pitches and gets hammered eventually. How he is a starter with only two real pitches I don't know.

It is becoming increasing clear that Hanley does not have the focus to be a DH!!!!!!1!!

I guess so. But I have no doubt that better, more qualified MEN are available in large numbers. This is a glass ceiling that did not need to be broken.

Pom has lost his command his last 2 times out which could be an indicator of fatigue.

Sigh.

Turn your sarcasm detector on please.

The problem is that if one is a sexist or a racist pig (and this applies historically to a large percentage of execs in professional sports), then there ALWAYS seem to be better and more qualified (white) men available.

Yeah, but one thing has nothing to do with the other. Even though Spuds has the hots for her, she's still a terrible announcer.

And whose idea was it to put Aaron F. Boone in the booth with her? This guy bleeds in pinstripes.

So... if there are more qualified men available and someone points that out, is the person who points it out a sexist pig? And how did race get into this discussion anyway?

I don't have the hots for that woman.

I am not a sexist or a racist. To suggest that I am is simply absurd.

Boone is another dope that makes me puke. The fat guy who does play by play is tolerable.

I've always felt like Dan Shulman is a little patronizing, not realizing that much of his audience are people who watch every Sox or Yankees game.

Three ways are over rated.

Forgive me if I've posted this link before, but it seems appropriate to the conversation. ;)

First 4-game sweep of the Yankees since June 1990. I knew my Dad took me to a Sox-Yankees game when I was four because of a funny story he likes to retell, and I know bits and pieces about the game that he remembers, or from my uncle who was there. So out of curiosity, I checked Baseball Reference. Yep, I was at one of those four games back in 1990. June 4th, Sox won 5-3 and Dana Kiecker started the game for them. My dad likes to reminisce about the fact that one of his friends who went with us, (a Yankees fan, sadly) was very drunk and spent most of the game screaming "DANA IS A GIRLS NAME" from the stands until some guy threatened to kick his ass if he didn't shut the hell up.

As a beaten and demoralized New York resident and New York teams fan, I commend Boston and the State of Massachusetts for its continued mastery over us with respect to professional sports. I also include the Buffalo teams in this equation, so consider the following. In last year's football season, New York teams were 1-4 against the Patriots. In last year's basketball season. 3-5, and in last year's hockey season, 3-6. Currently, in the baseball season, 5-11, and I predict the Sox will administer further pain and humiliation for a three game sweep in Yankee Stadium later this month. So in this calendar sports year, New York is an abysmal 12-26 against Boston teams. When adding up all the scores in these 38 games, Boston has outscored New York by 66 goals-points-runs. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, BOSTON OWNS NEW YORK. WE ARE NO LONGER A CHALLENGE FOR YOU GUYS, AND CAN ONLY PLEAD FOR MERCY IN THE REMAINING BASEBALL GAMES, AND HOPE THAT THE PATRIOTS, CELTICS AND BRUINS WILL SHOW SOME COMPASSION IN THE FALL AND WINTER SEASONS. TO SHOW YOU HOW BAD IT IS? PATRONS IN A NEW YORK BAR WEARING YANKEE CAPS WERE SHOUTING "LET'S GO, RED SOX"! AS BOSTON BRILLIANTLY (BUT CRUELLY) TOOK AWAY YET ANOTHER LEAD FROM US FOR THE FOUR GAME SLAUGHTER.

MAY ALL THE BOSTON TEAMS GO ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR. YOUR CITY, FANS AND TEAMS DESERVE IT. AND MAY BEANTOWN CONTINUE TO TEACH GOOD AND HARD LESSONS TO NEW YORK UNTIL OUR MANAGERS AND OWNERS CAN GET THINGS TOGETHER. WE SUCK.

NEW YORK IS BOSTON'S DOORMAT.......NO, TOILET SEAT......WHEN IT COMES TO SPORTS RIVALRY. AND THE PAIN AND HUMILIATION FOR US WILL CONTINUE.....................PLEASE, BOSTON, GO PICK ON A CITY THAT CAN BETTER CHALLENGE YOU.
