After scrolling through some names in my fantasy league I saw some absolutely dreadful numbers being posted. Is there anyone statistically worse than what Ryan Howard is doing?

http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/6097/ryan-howard

This isn't even a slow start, this has to be historically bad right? he is hitting .140 with a .198 OBP and .531 OPS

Prince Fielder is doing bad as well, but his average of .203 is 60 points higher than Howard, he is only guy I can think of that is close.

Anyone else have any other nominees?

There are guys that are horrible that are only playing because they're being paid so much (Howard).

There are other guys that are horrible that get jettisoned because the team is willing to eat the bad dough (Craig).

Clay Buchholz is the worst pitcher. He's bottom 3 in WAR and has worse k/9 numbers than the last two guys and a more lucky BABIP.

From MLBTR: Despite good results overall, closer Jonathan Papelbon has outperformed his peripheral stats and seen a velocity drop, so Washington could be looking to make a midseason closer addition for the second straight year.

He slammed the door on the Mets twice this weekend. His velocity has been down for years. He is still at 92-93. People don't give him the credit for knowing how to pitch. Everyone just thinks he is a thrower. He is not. He hasn't been for a long time.

You don't have to throw smoke to get 3 guys out, just ask Koji.

Hey, I'm not the one saying he needs to be replaced...

Oh I know.

It's just that there does seem to be an ongoing commentary that Papelbon is on the verge of totally losing it. Since coming off the DL he's pitched 4 innings with 8 K's, no walks and 1 hit allowed.

I think he's a very decent reliever, but is just highly overcompensated. Is he better than Koji right now? I think I'd trust him just as much.
