Well Done. Miles isn't a common name, but the option....

Then the phenomenon of "Heathcliff the Cat" came along.

oy...

I figured someone who went with the "first name as an initial" was probably embarrassed at how it sounded, given the alliteration with the surname. So I tried thinking of the most pretentious, embarrassing name for a child to grow up with.

Still no announcement about the baby. Hope everything is ok!

No kidding. I went searching for news about the baby on line this morning and it was the first time I'd noticed that he left the team "a few weeks early" for the birth. A few weeks is significant in a baby's development. This suddenly developed a new sense of concern in my mind.

To repeat what MVP said, I hope everything is ok.

Hmm. I had just assumed that his Wife had come to term.

They are giving birth in Boston or there abouts. If it is a high risk birth or there are complications, this is where they want to be. Especially if they are at Brigham And Womens.

I hope all goes well.

He will be back with the team Friday night when they come home (unless something happens). The real question is if there's no change in status, what happens when the Sox head to the West Coast on Monday?

I went through preterm labor with both my boys; my wife was on hospital bed rest for 7 weeks with the first and the second didn't listen and was born 9 weeks early; believe me when I say you may be at work while this is going on, your head is not all there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see big road/home splits for the rest of the year from JBJ. He might actually get some sleep when he's on the road.

Was he the only one performing well? If not, it doesn't matter if he cools off a little. Also, what would this have to do with the streak?

All turned out fine. Younger one has some fine motor skill issues, but that's about it. Both were/are excellent students. Older one was a pretty good HS athlete and graduated from Purdue in 2015 with an Engineering degree; the younger one is an Eagle Scout and will be senior at Notre Dame in the fall. We were very lucky and I often wonder what happened to some of the really tiny kids I saw in the neonatal unit at that time.

Bradley now has a Daughter. I have no details.

Yep. OB said on the broadcast that JBJ and his wife have a daughter and everyone is doing well. That's good news all around.

Congrats to JBJ!!!

The fact that little Emerson was delivered successfully with no complications was the best news I heard all day yesterday. I think we sometimes forget that baseball players are people and not wind-up dolls that we roll out onto the field for our enjoyment at game time. My best wishes go out to the entire family.

Indeed! And thanks Southy for her name!

And his younger brother's name was something common like David.
