Our set up is not longer reliable and old. We need a couple of young/durable BP arms. Also we need a solid SP.

Hopefully DD is cooking this.

I think that pretty much every team in baseball can stake the same claim.

Well Sox fans get this idea that the Sox can just go out and pluck these pieces out of somewhere at the deadline and WS here we come!!!

Do you know any Yankee fans that have thought that way?

Well in poker if you are dealt a bad hand then the solution is simple get new cards. Dump every player that disappoints you and go out to Walmart and get new ones.

No delusions. Owens, Johnson, Elias, aren't in form. Buch and Kelly not as of yet also. I don't see a silver bullet here. I think we need to pull a rabbit from a hat......

Buchholz and Kelly just threw back to back clunkers and it makes things look dire. And yet, the team is in first place, has the best record in the AL, and is on pace to win 98 games.

I'm not saying that we don't need another starter. We almost assuredly do. However, Dombrowski cannot make a panic move every time the team loses 2 or 3 games in a row. I am 100% sure that he is gauging interest levels with other teams and that he has the situation under control. Patience people. It's not even June yet.

It's clear that Buch and Kelly aren't able to be trusted in the rotation. It has nothing to do with patience imo. The handwringing is due to the fact that there are no other options the Sox can go to.

Buch and Kelly have been disasters, as many expected. Kelly got our hopes up briefly again, but the numbers show that in spite of one great start, he has only pitched 20 innings and he has a 6.30 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP.

Ha! Too bad there's not a deck of free players around full of aces.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure every team has a few of those fans.

Everyone is down on Kelly, but its extremely hard for me to judge a performance in Toronto against that brutal lineup. I'd love to see them replace him, but it isn't happening right now.

The Yankee deadline strategy is actually very effective. They usually find expensive, mid-tier players that the other team wants off the books, and are willing to trade for a bag of balls. They usually look for shorter contracts, but with pitching the Sox may need to look longer.

James Shields and Wei-yin Chen are probably the most reasonable trade options. Verlander too, if you get creative.
