I heard it was just 1Bman Chris Shaw, but now I'm hearing Matt Duffy and a low prospect.

Ok. Nice pickup for the giants.Needed to do something after the dodgers picked up Hill.

Giants get Matt Moore!

I wanted him.

4:19pm: Shaw is not going to the deal — it’s righty Michael Santos instead, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (via Twitter).

I hope Abad doesn't wind up being Aterrible.

I knew it was just a matter of time before this post showed up, but I didn't think it would be THIS SOON! ;)

Sorry. Too much Trade Deadline Eggnog for me!

Now, I'm hearing Matt Duffy, Michael Santos and maybe Lucious Fox.

Fox was supposedly their 2nd best prospect, but their list was not highly rated.

Maybe TB would not trade with us, but I'm thinking we could have offered more for Moore.

I am little dissapointed that we didn't look elsewhere for pitching depth. Pomeranz needs to step the f*** up along with our 200 plus million dollar man.

Makes you wonder, if we could have added Espinoza to our top offer for Sale and got the deal done.

Matt Duffy did have a .762 OPS last year with SF, but I do not think he's all that great. Lucious Fox was the big prospect involved , IMO. I found this on baseball Prospectus:

2. Lucius Fox, SS

DOB: 07/02/1997

Height/Weight: 6’1” 175 lbs.

Bats/Throws: S/R

Drafted/Acquired: Signed July 2015 out of the Bahamas for $6 million

Previous Ranking(s): Not Applicable

2015 Stats: N/A

Future Tools: 70 speed, 55 hit

Role: 50—Average regular up the middle

Fox, who played high-school ball in Florida, likely would have been a top-20 pick in last year’s draft had he not been declared an International Free Agent in April, a ruling that earned him an extra $4 million or so. He oozes athleticism and has a swing that works from both sides of the plate, staying through the zone with quick wrists and very little wasted movement. There’s more power from his natural right side at this point, which will probably change as he gets stronger; still, anything more than 40 power is unlikely because of his size/swing plane. The approach as a Florida prep left a lot to be desired, though there’s plenty of time for that to develop.

He has the speed and arm strength to stick at shortstop, but plenty of scouts I spoke with believe his ultimate landing spot is center field. The Giants will give him every chance to stay in the infield, and if he can he’s a potential .280/.350/.400 player who can steal 40 bases.

I know, Coulda, shoulda, woulda gets us nowhere, but at least it's not hindsight judging on my part.

I hope Benintendi comes up now, this black hole in LF need to be fix.

Is it really a black hole? Relative to our other outfielders, yes, but Holt hasn't been horrible this month and Young will be back soon.

OTOH I wouldn't mind seeing Benitendi

The Yanks sure built up their farm. Dealing away players like Miller, who was under team control for 2 more years at just $9M a year shows they may be looking further down the road than many expected.

Aroldis Chapman for Gleyber Torres(Ranked 27th nationally), Adam Warren, Billy McKinney (4th ranked on team farm) & Rashard Crawford

Andrew Miller for Clint Frazier (ranked 21 nationally), Justus Sheffield (ranked 69th), Ben Heller & JP Feyereisen

Carlos Beltran for Dillon Tate (Rangers' 3rd best prospect) and Nick Green

Ivan Nova for two players to be named later.

Vicente Campos for Tyler Clippard

So any idea yet what the sox put on the table for sale? I read somewhere they wanted swihart and the sox said no.

If that was all, I'm going to be sick.

Well it depends what the package was with swihart. They must really like swihart. Idk

The package the Sox offered was Benintendi and ERod plus. ChiSox said no. ChiSox wanted 3 top prospects plus more.

In the long run I think not trading Benny or Moncada was a very smart move. I might of pulled the trigger if it was Jose Fernan. Just a bad feeling about Sale.

What's plus more? Devers? Kop? They wanted swihart and they said no. Seems like the white sox got a little full of themselves.

I'd have given Swihart, Devers and Kopech and probably more.

They wanted benintendi. Benintendi, rodriguez, devers and another prospect should be enough. We will see if the white sox get a better deal then that from someone else.

Not moving Sale might come back and bite them. Sounds like they turned down a lot of talent. I know no guarantees, but the Yanks restocked. Look what the Pale hose could have gotten for 1 player. Time will tell.

Light had the deer in the headlights look we saw from Webster. Not a loss, imo.

Beware of Abad's peripherals, which are not very flattering.

That said, I have no issue with giving up Light for him.

We did trade for Pomeranz, Zeigler & Hill earlier.

I am good with the moves that Dombrowski made and presumably did not make. He added some pieces that should strengthen our playoff chances this year and next, and he did not gut the farm.
