Sensible, good choice. Huge in the player development area which has gone ... will help keep the stuff which has worked here and to limit the brain drain that the org feared I imagine.

Seeing as how the GM position is mostly a position in title only, it makes sense to promote someone from within. I like that Hazen has been around during the Theo and Cherington years, worked in player development, and is an analytics guy. Dombrowski is ultimately going to make the moves that he wants to make, but hopefully he will give serious consideration to Hazen's input. Dombrowski is at least giving the appearance of trying to strike a balance between old and new schools.

Not literally, but maybe figuratively. Sox fans were screaming for heads to roll after the collapse, chicken 'n' beer and Carl Crawford.

BTW: It is also funny somebody that a guy some of my high school classmates played in South Shore League baseball is the Red Sox GM now.

You seemed to like "Mike the Ass" -- a name that another poster came up with, not me. You lol'd it. I just tried to agree with you and go along with the crowd, but even when I do that you criticize me. You should try a new act. I haven't criticized Hazen yet. I suspect that he will be a errand boy.
