ALEC ASHER (Who?), RHP, 0-1, 6.35 ERA vs Mr. GRIT, LHP, 10-10, 4.57 ERA

Going up against a pitcher with a 6.35 ERA (granted, only one start), this will be a tough one for us.

Go Sox!!!

I'll accept nothing less than a sweep in this series.

We are at home and playing a team that would finish in the middle of the pack on AAA. The Phillies are terrible.

Did I just see an inside the park grand slam?? Not quite, but still pretty friggen awesome.

Nice to see you posting again, Mr. Palodios.

Thanks. I'll be lurking until things start calming down. This time of year, we see the same 5 discussions circling, so hopefully Dombrowski gives us something new to talk about soon.

It will just be a different 5 discussions getting beaten to death in the off season.

You are one of those fans that the FO overreacts to with big foolish signings because you walk away when the team is going bad.;)

LOL that sums it up. And I'll be right there beating them.

Sometimes we like the direction of the conversation and other times we are on the wrong side of the issue, but some one will be here to beat it. Lol! That is TalkSox. I'll be here winning some and losing some, but always interested and usually learning something.

It is September, the Sox are 14 games back on the division, and I'm watching anyway because I like the future of the team. Not exactly a fair assessment.

Yes, I know that you are watching and following the team. I was just poking a little fun at you and demonstrating that a waning interest in TalkSox does not correlate to a decreased interest in the Red Sox. ;-)

The best part of the next five topics we get to beat to death, is we will have the previous five topics to revisit and beat again to death some more.......

The Phillies are just the worst. Meanwhile, Bartolo Colon just threw a CG SHO for the Mets, what the f***. That division is just weird.

So is the NL as a whole. The gap between good in bad is greater than the gap between rich and poor in feudal Europe pre-plague. They have the five worst teams in the league: Philly, Miami, Atlanta, Cincy, and Colorado. But yet, you turn around and look at the Cards, Cubs, Pirates, Dodgers, and Mets. The AL meanwhile is a big pile of average. 9.5 games shouldn't separate the 2nd WC team from 2nd to last place in September.

Ortiz with number 496 -- number 30 on the season. He is clearly the problem. We would be in first place but for him.

You know, it's still okay to type #496 and #30. Forget all that "hashtag" business, # means number!!! LOL

Yeah, especially because in the Twitter world, you can't hashtag numbers.

I feel it is my civic duty to beat some of these topics to death in order to educate the masses. As a teacher, I just cannot let some of the nonsense posted here go unchallenged. You're welcome. ;)

Sure it does. That doesn't apply to everyone, but you know darn well that there are a good number of people who stop watching and following the Sox when they are not winning. Several posters here have even stated that they aren't watching the games anymore.
