Really. Other teams bring on has been /washed up / reclamation projects from the dumpster and pay them squat with incentives.

The Sox just love to waste money because they don't have any respect for it's value. They are not aware that their clientele are not in the 1% like they are.

Can't wait for TV revenues to plummet. Hope it happens before I croak so I can laugh my fat ass off.

Sox apologist can proceed to lambaste me with WAR and comps and s***. Masterson was a huge mistake. Even at "ONLY $9. MILLION".

This Management team really sucks donkey dicks. If they had to work for a publicly traded company they would be out on their boney asses.

The major thing that is costing Ben his job, is he was so stubborn when putting together this staff. He was so insistent that you could win with a bunch of 4 and 5s. An ace was a silly and stupid investment.

"There are many ways to build a rotation".

Yeah Ben. And you did not find a single one of them.

I think that too many here are letting The Dredded One ( Goldy Lox ) off the hook. Many complain about his play in left field. Rightly so. But almost in the same breath they loud him for his hitting.

That's ********. He is hitting about .260 with a Hanley full of XBH other than his 19 HR. He hardly ever walks. He is one of the laziest and stupidest base runners I have ever seen.

He is an embarrassment to this franchise. Though this franchise is an embarrassment too.

Both Hanley and Fat Boy are busts in this town and we have seen less than one full season.

Imagine having a BA and OBP lower than your weight? Imagine being paid $19.5 mil to hit 7 HR and drive in 30 runs at mid season?

Unf***ingbelievable.

Sandoval has been a joke. Dude's laughing all the way to the bank. I wish their was some stupid team that can at least eat half of that contract in a trade.

Sox should offer both duds to the Mets and eat a chunk.

I'm pretty sure both Ted and I are thinking about this too.

This is beyond putrid.

And to think, it was all by design!!!!!!!

Oh no - don't think that. Remember the early 60's.

Metscan't afford theie salaries, let alone the additional catering it takes to feed Pablo.

Total payroll in those years was probably $150 k. And in the early 60's they weren't even trying to win. Yawkey was paying attention to his other business interests and drinking in those year. Once O'Connell became GM, things changed quickly and the team's improvement was astonishing. The franchise was brought back to life. A GM can make a huge difference. Ben is a water boy with no business savy and probably less baseball knowledge.

Was there another bidder for Masterson? I doubt it. Did they go watch him throw to see if he got some velocity back? I never read any reports on that. What did they do ... go to the Kelly Blue Book equivalent for declining pitchers with lost velocity and just pay him book value. I don't get where the $9 million figure came from. Had someone else offered him $6 or 7 million? Did he say that he would retire if not paid $9 million. How did they arrive at that figure for a pitcher with a 5 + ERA and 7-8 lost mph on his fastball?

You are in great form today. LOL!! If I couldn't laugh about this stuff, I would be talking to myself in the street. Oh wait, I have been doing that too.

I really hate how our starters can't hold leads. They usually blows it by the 5th. Miley and Porcello are most notorious for blowing leads.

This is probably my least favorite sox team of all time... Very few guys on this team that are easy to root for, while most of them are overpaid, and/or suck ass.

They are frustrating to watch for sure, but I don't have any problems rooting for any of these guys. A player being overpaid and/or stinking is not a reason for me to not pull for them.

That applies to most players in MLB, I would think.

It does suck when it seems we have all of them.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but unless they are blown away with an offer, I disagree with the Sox trading away any of Hanley, Sanoval, or Porcello. None of them have looked good, but it's only been 3 months into their 4 or 5 year contracts. Even if you expected some decline from them, I am not buying that anyone expected any of them to be as bad as they are.

I had and still have no problems with Hanley's or Porcello's contracts. I have never been a fan of Pablo's contract. Even so, I expect each of them to perform at a level more consistent to their contracts and to their expectations going forward.

That has been extremely frustrating to watch. I'm sure it has to be deflating for the offense too, not that they are blameless for this mess of a season.

LOL It's uncanny how badly this team is playing. But there we are, back again the next night, hoping that things will get better. :)

So, can we keep betting our sig? It will be a pleasure, I could do it year after year. LOL!
