And by fixing I don't mean stuffing ballot boxes. But that's nothing new, fans have always been doing it, and now it's much easier to use bots and stuff to ensure Omar f***ing Infante is an All Star Game starter.

It seems to me and other people whose comments I've read today that fan voting and WS home field advantage are incompatible. I would not be surprised if since Selig's bonehead decision, there have been attempts by fans of teams in the opposing league to get absolute scrubs on the other league's starting lineup. Selig's move was reactionary and unnecessary. If you want to increase interest in the ASG it seems to me you need to go back to the starting lineup playing most if not all of the game. It's impossible to follow or keep track when every half inning more new faces are coming to the plate or taking the mound. In fact, since you ask the fans to say who they want to see, doesn't that mean those are the players who SHOULD play the lion's share of the game? They also need to drop the "every team gets at least one guy" ********. This has led to some really average or below average players appearing just for the sake of this stupid rule.

Something's got to give - should it be the home field advantage or the ballot stuffing?

Nothing about the ASG is an issue to me. It's just not that important.

Although I do find it dumb that 8 players from the Royals will start.

In a word, my answer is no. Although I'm really not going to like it if the AL starters are the Kansas City Royals and Mike Trout.

I don't really have a problem with fans voting for the players who play in the ASG, but the majority of fans are going to vote for their favorite players, not for the ones that are most deserving. That's okay in terms of the game itself, because these are the players that the fans want to see.

That said, it really shouldn't be called the "All Star" game if that is the case, not that it bothers me. Just being technical.

What does bother me, though, is having the ASG determine home field advantage for the World Series. That is the stupidest idea I've heard in a while. It's not that HFA makes that big of a difference in the series, but it does make a big difference in terms of having a DH or having the pitcher batting.

I imagine Kansas City has found it dumb to see way too many Yankee/Red Sox players starting every single year. I'm okay with them getting their shot for once -- especially in a year where no Red Sox deserve much of anything, besides maybe Pedroia/Bogaerts.

Personally I think it's a pretty f***ed-up event all the way around, including that damn Home Run Derby. If 8 Royals are starters that will seal the deal.

Hate that the fans vote (it should be managers and/or players) and hate that it determines home field advantage for the WS. Thanks for nothing Bud. Don't miss you at all.

The ASG was killed by Bud Selig. No one will ever care again due to ties, interleague play and "this time it counts" nonsense.
