The good news is that our Red Sox may actually win tonight. Maybe but it's still too early in the 9th.

 

The bad news is that sbf is back. Nothing worse than him, iortiz and 700 and their love fest for one another, no matter what one or the other posts. Thank God they won.

 

Gomes and NB, great job by Clay tonight and a nice win. However, can we all temper our enthusiasm just a shade until we see what develops tomorrow. We haven't won three games in a row since early April and now we've had trouble winning two straight. This is a series where we really do need to turn the hat trick the way Minnesota did to us in their backyard.. And we have to start hitting a helluva lot better than we have. It would have been criminal in a whole season of criminal acts if we would have failed Buchholz tonight. Tomorrow is the key. We need to pitch, hit, field and WIN---not do what we did in Texas.

Happy with the win Spud. Clay was great tonight and as I said in another post it would have been a crime to let him off without him getting a win. However, and here we go again, one game is only one game. We need to come back tomorrow and win a DH, pure and simple--sweep them as they did us in their ballpark. Nothing official just my take on things.

He said everyone in the org was frustrated but that he recognized that he had the right people here to fix it. He also said that the team was playing like "bleep".....he said bleep!

 

He said that he was not loosing patience and while he understood that fans were disappointed and rightfully so, he needed to be patient.

 

He said that this is a very good offensive team and that he expects them to start performing that way.

 

He still looks like a Prune, though.

He didn't have to have a news conference to tell writers and the media something they and us already knew. But at least Prune Face came out of hiding.

Fred, it is pretty telling when the owner publicly makes statements about the team playing like bleep. It means that ownership is also pissed and that they are concerned that continued crappy play will start hitting the bottom line and damaging the franchise. Look for things to shake out if there isn't a big turnaround. Another week or so of wallowing in the cellar, and we will see changes on the field.
