They won. How about some LESS whining?

Not so fast User. Remember we won the opener of the last two series only to get humiliated in s***** performances the next two of both of them. I will not cease until we start winning some games in bunches and Cherington gets his head out of his pocket and gets us some pitching.

A win is a win I suppose so I'm not upset. But I do agree the pitching has to be better. Still early in the season and Clay had a strong outing last time he played so we will see what happens. As long as the offense can stay consistent and put up runs this team should be OK. But I agree with most on this board, our rotation isn't giving me a ton of confidence.

Yes, I'm sure there's lot of teams itching to off load good pitching... in April.

You don't stop stop whining even when they DO win in bunches.

You can't help yourself.

But did anyone else smile when they saw that Salty was DFA by the Marlins after he came back from paternity leave?

Why would anyone smile at that?

I did.

I never thought much of Salty and millionaire ballplayers don't need a union contract clause to give them paid leave for paternity. If they want to be with their wives for the birth, they shouldn't get paid for the time off. Then we would see how many were truly thoughtful family men.

Because we're gristled Sox fans and we hate turncoats like Saltalamanoflamancha... Also, real men don't take paternity leave. Make the woman figure that out! Hur dur...

Yup.

It's amazing how personal some fans take this stuff.

Even if you've made tons of money, it still sucks to lose your job.

Particularly, if it's a job you love.

It was nice to see the bullpen bear down and shut down the Jays after Kelly's mediocrity.
The pen has been fine. Ogando has been a great addition. When healthy, he has good stuff and he can pitch.

Yes. I was just slightly irked by the weekend performance.

I consider Salty a key component in a Sox championship drive and he was always a model citizen while playing for the Sox.

Why anyone hates on him is just childish and stupid. Have fun with that.

Who hates Salty?

I am happy for him. He invoked his Union right to paid paternity leave and now he will get a lot of time to spend with the baby, and still cash his checks. Win win for him.

What leads you to think he wouldn't rather keep his job playing baseball?

As far back as I can remember the vast majority on this board could not wait to criticize Salty for one thing or another.

Aside from his inability to throw well he was a productive player with doubles power.

I hope that he catches on somewhere soon.

That's not hate. Them's just the facts. He is not a good catcher. He can't throw and he strikes out at alarming rate. On the positive side, he is tall.

I just figured that more family time was more important to him.

Yeah, right, because he was on paternity leave a couple of days. You're mocking the s*** out of him is what you're doing.

Yep. Maybe his replacement will be an all time great and Salty will be the new Wally Pipp. Lesson to be learned, when you sort of suck at a very high paying job, you should never take time off. LOL!! He can cry all the way to the bank.

Thanks Ted-----now let's see the next game thread starter repeat the performance tonight.....and try to keep it going.

That's supposed to be YOU.

Someone wake Fred from his afternoon nap to make the next game thread.

Haven't taken it yet NS, but it is time for someone else to pick it up from The Dean and throw their hat in the ring. I figure you might be a good candidate. Go for it!!!!!

Don't mess with the mojo. If you don't start the thread and we lose tonight they'll blame you.
