The good news? We won a pitcher's duel, 1-0. The bad news? We're not hitting lately worth a crap. With our starting pitching we need to put more runs on the board.....and our starters have to start going a little deeper in the game or our bullpen will be gassed by August.

They're better than some gave them credit for this offseason, but health is a big issue. Longoria is injury prone, and they already have Cobb, Moore, Smyley, Loney and Jaso hurt. That's too many key players.

Fred, this team won 7-1 yesterday, beat an ace today, and is scoring more runs per game than any team besides the Royals. I wouldn't worry about the offense.

So far the Red Sox batters have pitched against Cole Hamels, Tanaka, Zimmermann, Strasburg, Gonzalez, Archer, and Tillman. They haven't faced a lot of bad pitchers, but they've still done plenty of damage. I can't wait until they get out there to Minnesota or Houston.

I disagree, because when will that rotation be healthy? And even if it is, how are they going to hold on to leads? And how are they going to score runs? They will indeed be the butt of the league IMO.

The Rays have several starting position player on the shelf. But even when those guys come back that offense is anemic.

I would rather have a really good starting rotation and a mediocre offense, than vice versa, with the way the game is played today. I think when they get their offensive players back, that are injured at the moment, they will produce enough to help out their fenomenal rotation. Yes, their bullpen is less than desirable. But, with the starters they have; they can go 7 or 8 innings. You wont need a bullpen that much with guys who can go that deep into games.

The big problem is that the Rays have started the season limping out of the gate. Longoria, Loney, Asdrupal, Souza, Dejesus, Jaso isn't a terrible offense.
