Severino would be more a showcase or an emergency option. Capuano is throwing in the minors now. Nova should be back soon. Tanaka apparently should be back soon. We have Whitley in the rotation now as is. We would need to lose multiple starters and have rehabs delayed to have to go to Severino. Lindgren would be a bonus, but as a LH reliever, we already have Shreve, Wilson and Miller. Not really a need for now

And tonight's game was buttf***ed by our moron manager again. What a f***ing moron. So you have a 1 run lead entering the 8th. You bring in Martin instead of Betances, but have Betances ready at the beginning of the inning. You allow Martin to put 2 batters on before you bring in Betances. A lucky pop up double ties the game. Then a great play by Headley and a low throw to the backup Jones who sucks defensively and cannot pick it leads to 2 more runs. How bout this you f***ing idiot manager. If you have your setup guy ready for the 8th inning, then go to him. If you don't want to use him, then don't have him ready. Also, if you are holding a 1 run lead and you make other defensive changes to hold the lead, how about bringing Teixeira into the game for defensive reasons, as the guy manning that base is a DH and not a 1b. Total f***erage by our terrible leader, which will likely cost us the game. f*** you Joe

Well, you are at stage 1, kind of sensitive when your team L. Some of us are at stage 3 already. We get mad when we lose but do not overreact that much since we realize that it was coming anyways. Hopefully we do not get into stage 4. In that stage you just don't give a f*** about a L. LOL! Edited by iortiz

I have never gotten to stage 4.

Of course I did not just jump on the bandwagon in the Pedro era either.

I will always want to see my team succeed. I hope for it every day.

At this point I have seen most everything to see in MLB baseball. I am hardly ever surprised ( except for crazy s*** like Quintero throwing a ball into a batter's kidney at blank range ) . I can see how the Sox COULD right the ship. I have just seen enough of this act over the years to feel strongly that this team is what I thought it would be.

A near .500 team that finishes 3rd or 4th.

An error on Headley was just wrong. The ball was a double all the way. Headley dives and nabs the ball, jumps to his feet, and makes an off balanced throw that is on line but on a hop. A big league 1B makes that play 80% of the time. It was a short hop, but wasn't too close to his body to make it unpredictable. Jones butchered it. The scorer should have given Martin a hit

Miller wasn't going to be used. The game was f***ed, but it wasn't due to the bullpen. I would of put Whitely back out there for the 8th until he got into trouble.

Why go to Martin, though? Martin is a guy who has had good results, but needs to prove more to be anything more than a deficit or big lead kind of guy. Carpenter made sense there if Miller was unavailable

Wouldn't mind Pineda for the 8th and then Carp for the 9th here. It'll be nice to see Pirela in the lineup tomorrow though.

Betances and Miller have been unreal. But it is time to give them a rest. My hope is that we either beat the f***ing hell out of Chen tomorrow or Whitley goes long. We need innings out of our starters.

Pineda 12K in 5IP. His stuff has returned
We have no one with that stuff. It still pisses me off that you got an arm like this for that pig Montero.

Hopefully Tanaka can return and be healthy. Pined and him would be a hell of a 1-2 punch in the playoffs. Would love to see Nova come back strong too, he has some good stuff. Maybe not ace but a decent second starter

Meh, I am considering anything out of Tanaka this year a bonus. From the sounds of it, this wrist thing is minor and they are basically overreacting. That being said, IF Tanaka was healthy at the same time as Pineda, and it corresponded with a playoff run, we'd be a tough out. Our pen shortens games to 7 innings in the regular season and in the post-season, it could shorten particular games to 5 innings. I love the fact that Nova is returning. But aside from Pineda and Tanaka, nobody has really grabbed the #3 slot with both hands. Eovaldi has been hit or miss, Sabathia has been good for 2 starts and abysmal the rest. Warren has looked great through the first 5 innings of practically every game then shits the bed in the 6th. Whitley isn't really an option for a playoff caliber team. I am hoping Nova comes back as that guy, but post TJS guys are wild cards as well. If we continue this recipe into June or July, we are gonna be acquiring an arm, I guarantee it. I could even see an acquisition on the scale of Hamels. We have the prospects (contrary to this board's belief) and now we have shown that we can play pretty well. We're 1 starter away from being a tough playoff out. And if Tanaka were healthy for October, we'd have a 1-2-3 punch that would possibly make us the favorites out of the AL

Great job Girardi. You see your starter cruising along then he gets into some trouble in the 6th. You bring him in for the 7th, allow him to put 2 runners on and then allow him to put those guys across the plate without going to the pen. Great job being a solid game manager, you f***. Eovaldi might have a live arm, but he doesn't miss bats. You get 6 shutout innings, you be happy about it and be prepared for the meltdown before you lose the lead

Lol. Thanks UN?. The thing that bothers me about Joe is that he seems to forget which guys he can trust and which ones he cannot. Eovaldi ended up with a 7.1IP 4ER line he didn't deserve at all. The guy dominated for 5IP. He struggled in the 6th, but got out of it with a 2-0 lead. You've got a 2-0 lead in the 7th against a starter like Archer and your #4 is starting to lose his command. How in the hell do you allow him to go into the seventh without a short leash? Not only did Girardi let him throw the 7th, he left him in there with Wilson warming against Dejesus with the tying runs in scoring position. I get the idea of saving the pen, but you don't save s*** if you still use a guy you're trying to conserve (Betances) after you've blown the lead. I don't get it. For now, I'd only use Betances and Miller in games we are winning. Joe doesn't seem to trust any other right handed reliever now that Martin is hurt. That being said, you have to at least trot them out there once in a while.

And this is what happens when you f*** with the mojo of your team. Saving your pen is a nice thing to do, when you are losing! Eovaldi's start was exactly how you buttf*** your team momentum. You go to Wilson, Betances, Miller and you at the very least split the series. We got handled by a punk last night and tonight we couldn't hit detritus. Add to that the fact that we lost Whitley and we're in a decidedly different place than we were 3 games ago. Looks like Capuano found his break to re-enter the rotation. I bet Whitley blew out his elbow

Yankee pitching with another bad break. Or Rupture.

Can't say that I will cry about it.

Capuano is a stiff that can look good in small doses.

How is Nova doing? Is he pitching yet? Long toss, off the mount? BP sessions, rehab starts?

He is the guy you need back.
