Yeah i've lost a couple dollars and a couple bets, why?

I play in a few friendly house games ... I think you would be good company.

Well i'm actually not that fun at parties since i barely drink haha

I hardly drink myself ... maybe once or twice per year if that. You would be fun as you are.

Yes they could......in about a millisecond. Another pleasant pipe dream suggestion. We seem to be full of them today. I'll try to come up one of my own.

I was joking.

Buster Olney reports that Cano has asked the Yankees for 9 * 28 = 252. Plus a vesting option for a 10th year thrown in for good measure LOL

There is no f***ing way Cano gets that. 7yrs 168 mil is an awesome deal. $24 mil per year for 7 yrs. I highly, highly doubt any team can match that

How would you feel if the Sox signed Cano to play 1B for 200M/8? Happy, sad, angry, indifferent, pissed-off.

I'd be indifferent. I have said before, he's gonna give elite production for the next 3 yrs, good production for the following two, and be obsolete after that. If the sox are willing to have him as an albatross for his final 3 seasons at $25 mil per, then go for it

Interesting ... you might be right ... but will not average salaries continue to grow going forward? Why cannot Cano give the Sox Ortiz type numbers in his last 3 years?

Cano might be more willing to bang balls off the Green Monster than Ortiz and he is a better athlete and in better shape. Cano has already proven that he can play and excel in a big market ... playing 1B should improve his offense as well.

Average salaries may keep growing a bit more, but I think it's possible that high end salaries have reached their peak. A-Rod got that 10 year 252 million contract from Texas before the 2001 season, and 25 million a year is still pretty close to the top salary.

Would love to see Cano sign with a team other than the Yankees ... it will have to cost them 4 games.

There's a reason why Ortiz has played well into his older years. He was a PED user and only plays half the games since he doesn't play D
You just can't resist taking a shot at the big man.

He was on the 2003 list. That's it in the fact department.

Giambi damaged the Sox on many occasions and he was an admitted PED User. I think he homered twice in the Aaron Boone game.

I know you love bringing this up, but no one has any idea what drug it was, and there has been no evidence in the last 10 years since. For all we know, he could have mistaken his kid's ridilin for an aspirin. One more time, this was from ten years ago, and no one has heard a thing since.

ARod tested positive in 2003 as well. He hasn't tested positive since. Those who chose to cheat aren't likely to just slink away and never try again. Nobody seems to think that Ortiz, coming off a rough 2010-2011 might have gotten a little extra help medically? And coming off his Achilles issue, you don't think he may have gotten some assistance of a medicinal variety? I do

Come on Ted.....how would you feel if there was a big bopper like PAPI beating the living s*** out of our team the way Ortiz has been cleaning he Yankees' clocks the past decade?

There is a report from NYT A-rod fail a 2006 test.

Arod tested positive in 2003 for testosterone and another drug. He then admitted to using from 2001-2003. Jose Canseco then stated he was using in 2008. In 2009, one of Arod's trainers was banned from baseball for carrying around a bag of steroids. In 2010, A-rod was treated by a doctor who was tangled in a mess of smuggling HGH into the U.S. In 2013, Biogenesis.

Ortiz? Some mystery drug in 2003. I would not be surprised if his 2003-2006 seasons were helped by steroids, but he has gone far too long without a whimper of anything to show he's using now. He's also aged much better than most of the steroid users, and his numbers have been pretty consistent.

Ahh ... Jose Canseco ... was attacked viciously by the sports writers when he came clean. Turns out that he was telling the truth all along ... not just about himself but everyone involved.

That's true, but Jose comes out as a loser regardless. While 'Vindicated', he was ultimately seen as a self-centred prick who ratted out people for money, and was still the consummate juice-enhanced cartoon baseball player. Then he continued to show he was a loser with his messed-up 'career' and personal life.

.... and Arod is still a much bigger creep.
