Don't let the Tigers starting pitching continue to dominate. Bats need to wake up tonight, no excuses. Take a 3-2 lead and head to Boston for the rest of the series. I don't care how, JUST WIN. I expect to come home to a win after work, don't let me down Red Sox.

Today's song: Doomriders - Lions

They may be tigers, but the Sox are the kings of the jungle. Tonight, the bats will show it.

Just do the job guys. If I had a wish right now, and I really do.....it would be to take care of the Tigers tonight, then wrap it up on Saturday at Fenway with no Sunday game. Then I could have a couple of days more to decompress for the first two games of the World Series. Can you guys get me and yourselves some much needed mojo for that? Would be greatly appreciated.

Well one thing that will heip us tonight is that Comerica should be friendlier to a LH pitcher than Fenway. Almost any mistake Jon makes in Fenway hurts him and it is easy for a LH pitcher to get hurt in Fenway even when he is not making a mistake. I think chances are good that Jon will be the starting pitcher that gets the kudo's tonight.

As Fred noted, it's the anniversary of the most iconic play in Sox history. Win!

If only Papi had hit that HR tonight. Would have made two iconic moments on the same day in history.

And they'd be down 3 games to 2?

So the guy who (aside from Ortiz) is the best hitter on the team with the highest OBP, who got the only hit in Game1 and who has managed to hit and get on base whenever he's allowed to play sits on the bench? Why?

Why indeed? With all due respect to Gomes, Nava is better. Nava is a righty killer. Gomes is deadly off the bench late in the game. There is just no reason at all for Nava not to be starting, other than a hunch which might just be indigestion.

Put the best team on the field, Farrell!

Don't like Gomes starting instead of Nava. Prefer Gomes off the bench late to PH. Don't like XB batting where he is. If you are going to bat him that far down the order, bat him 9th ahead of Ells coming up at the top of the order.

For the entire playoffs: Gomes is 4-0, Nava is 1-3.

Coincidence.

Nava has a .420 playoff OBP versus Gomes's .312, and drove in the only hit during what would have been a combined no-hitter. At best, they are about equal value on the roster.

No. Anna Belle will not be good again.

Get the damn bats going for once.

Everytime Bogaerts has been on base this post season, he's scored. Keep that going.

Stop crying about how good the Tigers pitchers have thrown and find a way.

But above all. Just win the damn game.

I know I promised Pal. mvp and Youk that I would be more positive from here on in, but I have to tell you, some of the things Farrell does really frosts my ass. Nava should be in the game and it is Drew who should be sitting and not Middlebrooks. Drew has done nothing with the stick and hasn't hit the ball hard at all in this series. He has also looked pathetic striking out. He looks completely overmatched. As for Ross, does hit presence in the lineup do anything for our offense which finally started to show some life last night, albeit, though in a losing effort? Sometimes I think the inspiration Farrell get sometimes from his rear end. Let's hope the team can overcome John's brain cramp tonight.
