Am i the only person who dislikes Dan Patrick? I cannot stand him. I would rather step on broken glass than watch/listen to his show.

 

I'm sure you aren't the only one but I LOVE HIM!!!! To each his own bro!

Not true. I spent a significant amount of time in Chicago the past three years, and you'd be surprised how many people wish a slow, painful death on Hawk. A lot of Yankee fans i know are also not very fond of their hometown duo. "C YAAAAA, AN A-BOMB FOR A-RODDDDDDD" gets tired quickly.

 

HAWK is stupendously bad ... John Sterling is awful too ... but I know Yankee fans who love him too. Hawk is fairly insulting, that is the line. I mean, even in Boston - Tommy Heinsohn has the pom poms out for the Celtics, but he doesn't flat out not make sense like Hawk does.

Anyone just see Oakland get screwed on a home run call? That looked like pretty clear fan interference to me.

 

Call was right - I mean you can't reverse that ... the fan reached over, but it did not look CLEARLY like it cost Reddick a catch.

Yes, we were discussing it in the appropriate thread..... ;) I think they got the call right. Not enough evidence that he would have made that catch.

Sox have a great shot to close out the Rays tonight. Should be able to get on Hellickson and either drive his pitch count up or drive his pitch count up while plating runs. Would be great to end this tonight,

 

Announce team is so bad that by the end of last night my stomach was completely tied in knots. Kept thinking it could not get worse but a half hour later I would be telling myself that somehow it had gotten worse.

Ever notice that baseball is the only sport where fans can, and do, interfere with the game on a regular basis?

I feel like the broadcast team made that loss twice as painful. I'm strongly considering watching on mute tonight.

I think everyone is just being a little biased here. I have a feeling unless the people broadcasting have a hard on for the Sox, you'd hate them.

 

They were horrible dude. Obviously we're all biased, that goes without saying, but those guys were excruciating.

That's probably not true. I personally enjoy Fox Sports' Mexican crew, and they try to maintain objectivity as much as possible, as it should be in playoff broadcasting teams.

Although, it was annoying every time the rays did something good, they sounded like they were having a orgasmic reaction.

It sucks, but I guess it should not be surprising that Tampa, the little engine that could with the fans who don't appreciate them ... going against the Goliath Sawx makes them a natural protagonist. But still ...

Be thankful that we're not facing the Pirates (yet) or the anti-Sox thing would be a lot worse. Combine the "been so long" with "gorgeous park" thing and the Pirates love will be insufferable. Oakland are also plucky underdog sorts, but they play in such a shithole that it is hard for them to be as TV friendly.

Alright guys. I was watching the game alone last night (on purpose) and really got stressed out when the Rays tied it 3-3. I really wanted to join the GT for a little consolation but knew that a lot of people would be bitching and whining and knew it would make me feel even worse.

 

Here's hoping that tonight is different!!! GO RED SOX!!!
