I'm watching the post-game on Comcast Sports Network. Supposedly after Price's post-game interview, after he talked about the Sox's lucky win, he said to the interviewers while walking away: "Nice questions... bunch of nerds."

Price lost the game but he came away from it looking fricking cool. Idk if we can get past Price and his freaking coolness in Gm 5, so we almost have to win 1 in Tampa.

No way ... let's sweep them under the rug.

The Rays look beat. They had to scrap the last month just to tie for a WC spot. They played two elimination games and now they're dead. Here's to hoping they can at least get back to Boston. I thought an actual team would show up in the bean. But they look utterly defeated. To the sox credit, they are hitting on all cylinders

I don't want to see LA there, but realistically, their toughest opponent is the Braves. They can easily get past STL/PIT.

Easily? St Louis is a damn good team. They won 97 games.

The Dodgers have much better pitching. If they can shutdown the Cardinals' offense, they'll be fine.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they'd "easily" get past Stl. The only thing the Dodgers have over them is a better #2 in Greinke. There's a reason why the Cards tied the Sox for the best record in the league. And Pittsburgh actually has better pitching than the Dodgers as a whole, and better D. They also made the playoffs for a reason.

And a better #1. The Cards have some excellent pitching, but NOBODY is better than Kershaw.

Are you trying to say Adam Wainwright can't match Kershaw pitch for pitch? Because that would certainly be untrue.

Matching him pitch for pitch vs dominating through an entire series is a little different. Kershaw is the best pitcher in the game right now. He is a decided advantage vs anyone they face. The Dodgers have the best 1-2 punch, IMO, with the Tigers coming in a close second.

Again, do you not think Wainwright is in the same category as Kershaw? Kershaw is better, but if you're implying Wainwright couldn't match him in a short series, then you don't know what you're talking about. This is helped further by the fact that the Dodgers are hobbled and the Cards have their league-leading offense almost intact, since the drop-off from Craig to Adams is not that big.

Yeah, it must be because they had to scrap for the last month unlike every other team that had a chance at the playoffs and they're dead. Had to play two, count them, two more games than everyone else as well. It had nothing to do with the Red Sox being the best team in baseball or anything like that.

Yeah cause pitching against the NL West all year is the toughest test of a pitcher.

I think the grapes are so sour that jacko can't wait for a loss (if there are any) to come in AFTER a game to impart little gems of wisdom like the rays being beaten by the Sox cause they had to scrap so hard the last month and play 2 more games, Kershaw is the best (f*** you clay) and the second best is Detroit. What are the postseason records so far again? The Sox just scored 19 runs in two games against tampa's aces including Lackey outdueling price as the rays scored what? six runs? But we are just firing on all cylinders right now, they aren't actually the best team in the league and haven't been for the whole season.

Just be real for once jacko, yeah anything can happen in the postseason and your twisted dreams can still possibly come true but at least admit that the Sox are the best team in the playoffs this year. If you can't then don't blow smoke up our asses and just keep packing up those U-Haul boxes and working harder than everyone else in the world as a "doctor" at the Orange Julius in your local mall's food court to pay all of our welfare checks.

Brennan with the crowning achievement of online forum participation: The quintuple post.

Unlike most quintuple posters however, all five of his are either spot on or a criticism of the human U-Haul truck, therefore they are not only forgiven, but actually welcome.

Quintuple post! Awesomeness!

And yes, Price is a total bitch. Just wait till a big market team overpays for him and he shrivels under the spotlight. What a whiner.

Hey thanks U.N., I may not be a stat guy or even half as baseball knowledgable as most of the posters in here but I like a good team and can't deal with it when s*** isn't kept at least semi-real.

There's more to baseball than just stats. Otherwise, they'd just declare the winner based on computer simulations. Baseball knowledge isn't always measured strictly by statistical knowledge.

Stats are great, but they aren't the end all be all that people make them out to be.

Just read some more tweets from price last night where he was pointing out all of the awards he has won back through his college days, he said "true fans" would understand. Christ will someone get this guy a industrial duty pressure washer filled with Vagisil?

That whole organization is a bunch of sniveling **** rags. Maybe both the Rays and Orioles have hit the tipping point about not having any fans in their stadiums while we smack them around, and tearfully bitching through the media is the only way to alleviate their inner pain. We should start a site-wide pool - which arrogant, spineless old clod gets ass cancer first, Maddon or Showalter?

Oh god and the thought of Price going to a real team with a real following and getting his s*** pushed in under the spotlight puts a big smile on my face. Because you know it's coming. Then when it's over he can rattle off all his awards again with tears streaming down his face while some sap of a GM is in the fetal position in his luxury suite asking why.

Sorry I just f***ing hate these pricks.

price's tweets almost deserve their own thread. God someone should tear up his man card, clinch the pieces in their fist and split his f***ing nose open. Google that s***, it's the most embarrassing rant I've ever seen from a "professional" athlete and that includes a-roid and LeBron.

MVP! MVP!

On another note, Ellsbury is making a good case to break the bank for him. As fragile as he can seem I've always hated the idea of having to play against him.

At least the Yankees command respect in some way, outside of A-Wad of course. But these other two anonymous bush league organizations need to fall off the face of the earth. Who celebrates on a field with silly string and has a champagne shower to celebrate their 69th win of the season? I'm embarrassed that we share a division with these goobers.
