They got sick of his habit of running out to the field during play and waving home guys from first on infield dribblers.

No, sorry, you're going to have to explain that one.

Seems like Girardi will stay with the Yankee's , unless he wants out.

Their offering him more than 3 MIL a year.

As much as I would enjoy him leaving, I don't see it happening. He's managing his former team, a team that has a history of winning, and a team that has the ability to pay him more than anyone else. The 3 MIL salary is an important factor.

1. He played more games with the Cubs

2. Chicago could easily afford that salary and wants to win

3. Winning another WS with Yanks = meh, winning with Cubs = he is a God

4. Gets to coach young guys who want to win rather than over the hill vets who have one foot out the door

Seriously? You don't remember the days when everyone called him "Send'em Sveum"? This guy would wave his own child across the street because "the truck looked like it was pretty far away".

Great points. He would be worth more to the Cubs of he just got them to the playoffs, nevermind winning the WS.

So much for Girardi going to the Cubs, Yankees have re-signed him to a 4-year contract.

Damn, that's awful news.

He would have been insane to leave his current situation. Cashman will reload and field a competitive team while Theo is still in his 5 year plan to nowhere.

Yeah. If the Cubs had a bright future, I'm sure Girardi would want to be there.

The Cubs manager job will probably be open again after a couple more years of losing. The GM job might be open too.

Not to mention he makes more money in NY

It's a good thing for NY. Girardi is a good guy to teach the younger players how the game is played and I think our team is gonna be pretty young next yr

I still think that Jeter would be a great player-manager. He's perfect for it. He's the most respected guy in the clubhouse now that Mo's gone. He knows so much about the game. If Girardi had left, I wouldn't have been surprised to see the Yankees discuss that option with Jeter

No one walks from yankee money, they need to be forcibly removed from the steinbrenner money teats. I can't even believe this got it's own thread.

Didn't little schmo turn down the O's job a few years back to suck the yankee money dick? Now the O's are actually better than the yankees.
