Probably best case in all of these series where competitors are playing head to head would be splits because nobody would gain any ground on the Sox. We probably do need to get a sweep somewhere in here as it has gotten really too close with the Rays.

This mess is probably still more of an issue for our guys than for the skanks. Knew it would work out that way. More distraction, more media questions, more ******** like the Ortiz comments.

They were 6-2 prior to the Dempster Message.

Correlation does not equal causation.

True. But the mythology around this is gathering steam and the reality isn't conflicting with the mythology.

It remains an unconscionably f***headed and unnecessary move by Dempster. Looking back on it I wish he had been immediately ejected. That would have removed any doubt of how wrong it was.

Don't worry TB will take care of the Yankees. I'd be more impressed if they weren't beating the punching bag of the AL East.

I'm fine with TB winning as long as the Sox sweep.

Never root for the skankees.

Amen! Thoughts of the $pankees somehow making the playoffs, or even worse winning the division is something that causes me to lose sleep. Can't thing of a worse thing to have happen to end the 2013 baseball season.

How can you be a Jeter fan but say you never root for the Yanks?

He's one of the most respected players in the game, especially by my age group.

It doesn't, but basically rooting for someone in pinstripes is rooting for the Yankees.

Nice to know.

We gonna get a GT soon?

Yes, I don't really care about someone being a Sox fan and liking Jeter. It just means you can't say "I never root for the Yanks."

2 things.

1. Saying you hate the Yankees but like Jeter is like saying you hate STD's but love genital herpes.

2. f*** Jeter.

You take this too seriously.

Whatever. Doesn't matter to me anymore.

Definitely doesn't mean you root for the Yankees. It means he likes one Yankees player out of the entire organization, and the most respectable one at that.

It feels good to have someone on my side for once.

I don't see how you keep complaining about it. You set yourself up. Make you bed and lie in it :)

I'm already lying in my bed.

Either one. Jeter's a full time player, and not someone who pitches for one inning at a time.

Out of the two of them, Jeter's the most likely to make it to the HOF on his first try.
