I'm telling you man, this guy is a f***ing moron. Ortiz had every right to be pissed, he kept screwing him over.

He certaintly did.

Yanks are in there longest hr drought since 84. They truly do suck.
Their radio announcers were talking about the HR drought today. I am surprised that they are not in last place.

That last nasty changeup too vic is the exact reason why we should have pursued k-rod more.

Except that the Orioles gave up their 4th best prospect for him. Granted our system isn't the same as theirs but that price was way too high for us imo.

True, true. Did not know that.

I was actually listening to that game while I was reading resumes, and you're absolutely right. The Yankees radio guys were hypersensitive about the Yankees not hitting home runs, as if that was their problem. I wonder if that's the kind of mentality the ownership has considering they trust traded for Soriano when they should be selling.

One of the baseball analysts (I think it was Abraham) said Merrero would have been the Sox equivalent of Delmonaco. Not really sure about that. It was the only comment regarding equivalent Sox prospects I saw after the trade.

Seems fair, our farm system is much better. Not sure the opposing team would see it that way though. They'd probably still ask for a top 5.

It is a weird use of an asset. Delmonico has tools and approach from what I've read - but has had injury problems. Not a Top 100 prospect, but certainly someone with a pro possibility. You are trading that for 20 innings of value. This is why the prospect position for reliever trade is always so dicey. Even if Machado might be their future at 3B/SS, Delmonoco has more value as a commodity one would think.

Koji continues too have an amazing july, only allowing 4 hits the whole month and no runs. Last run he gave up was on june 30th.
