Napoli and Gomes will each hit a rocket off Diamond. Time for us to start beating up on lefty pitchers like we should.

I don't have the confidence in Dempster. He has a low ERA, but hasn't had any run support. That will change. My prediction: 11-4 Sox. Smack the s*** out of Diamond. Middlebrooks with 3 RBI, Papi and Napoli with back to back jacks.

Joboo rather leave his pants on, but the streaking will continue!

I hated this in the beginning of the year, but I just watched Fever Pitch, so keep it going!

They cannot take Ells out of the lineup at this point. However they definitely need to drop him in the order. Although Vic would be one of my prime candidates to bat lead off, Nava should be in the top spot for now.

Ellsbury CF

Gomes LF

Pedroia 2B

Ortiz DH

Napoli 1B

Nava RF

Middlebrooks 3B

Lavarnway C

Ciriaco SS

Drew and Victorino out with back injuries. That sucks.

Any word on the serious for Victorino? Did he reinjure it?

Thank you sir.

Love Gomes batting second. He's tied with Joey Votto for the highest walk rate in baseball (17.8%), he's 12th in the AL with 4.16 pitches/PA and he's yet to ground in to a double play.

Not a problem.

How'd Drew get hurt?

Pretty sure it was after his head first slide into 2B last night, he rolled kinda funny and they came out to check on him.

All of that good contact is bound to start paying off for Gomes. That .220 BABIP will normalize eventually. He's hitting tons of line drives so expecting such a normalization is not crazy.

Drew did look uncomfortable. Probably felt worse today. Did not look like it was long term bad though. So maybe a game or two and he comes back.

Gomes' BABIP should be higher, but his line drive rate is 17.3% which is well below average.

The league average is right around 19%. Well below average is not the correct phrase here.

Isn't that slightly below his career average as well? Maybe not....I'll just go look.

Interestingly enough, Gomes's best years have come in seasons with LD% lower than his career averages. I guess he's at his best when he's hitting more flyballs.

Time to pick up Demster, he’s had some terrible luck and some terrible defense behind him. He’s allowed 3 ER or less in all but one start. And in the one start in which he allowed more than three ER, it was only do to an field pop up that was up in the air a long time fell without anyone touching it.
