Talk about a useless make talk stat from NESN..... "that makes four grand slam home runs by "A" Drew in a Red Sox uniform. Meaning between them....Who gives a f***?

So I guess we should send Mother Drew a dozen roses or somethin' Is that what that means?

They obviously run out of s*** to talk about. I'm having to watch the ESPN broadcast tonight. Not too bad. Nomar and Sean McDonough (I think) weird. Don't have a choice. When the Sox are on the road I don't always get the NESN broadcast,

I have recently gotten the feeling that this is the kind of thing that Farrell gets ridiculously stubborn about. Ells will still be batting at the top of the order at a .151/.225/.650 or something like that in August with Farrell still waiting for him to get hot.

I could be wrong but I just feel those stubborn as hell vibes just radiating off of Farrell.

You are 100 percent right on that one.

Bard tonight: 1IP, 1H, 5BB, 2WP, 2R

He really is finished.

He's going to be one of those curiosities that we vaguely remember ten years from now.

"Remember that guy who set up for Paps in, uh, what was it, 2010 or so?"

"Yeah, guy named Warrior, or Cleric, or Mage, or Rogue, wasn't it?"

"Wait a sec, wait a sec... Bard, I think."

"Right, Bard. Whatever happened to that guy?"

"I dunno. Seems like he just disappeared."

Our streaky offense still need to wake up.

This game is kinda a torture to watch.

Imagine if it were 3-2 instead of 8-2. Groan...

I feel like there are innings where they seem to stop trying. Whereas the Rays seem like a team that's trying to win 100% of the time, even if they were playing little leaguers in a Make a Wish foundation game. The Rays would send those kids on their deathbeds out with a loss.

Hey..... we got our inning tonight.

Some people are never satisfied....then again...if you blinked....you missed it:D:D

Once again Jon has a shaky 1st and then clamps down. There are many SP that struggle with the 1st inning. Just the way it is I think...especially on the road and especially if they are forced to go to the stretch before they have even worked up a sweat.

So far in this series each team has scored in one inning in each game, for a total of 18 runs.

Great...WMB swings and misses about 150 of those a month and hits one off the ninth guy at the end of the Rays Bullpen for a 1 run HR...will probably encourage him to swing at another 150.

You just cannot make a living in this league swinging at pitchers pitches early in counts. Just does not work.

Really encouraging to see WMB get multiple extra base hits to the opposite field tonight. It would be huge for our offense is he turned it around.

Yes it would! Let's hope he continues!

Believe me I want to see WMB improve more than anybody. I have probably defended him more than anybody and have probably exercised more hyperbole than anybody about where he can end up as a ML hitter. But that is not the road to success for him.

Interesting comment about the traditional catchers mask vs the Hockey style full face and head mask.

I am sure the hockey style is lighter. Maybe that is why it does not provide as much protection against concussion. You could tell those two balls that hit Ross just bored right in on him....very heavy blows that did not glance off at all. The traditional mask may look outdated but I can see why it would provide better protection.

All these runs tonight are very nice. However the joking aside that we did earlier, this is still not the offense we featured in April. If we don't go back to that, I just don't think we will generate that kind of offensive output we had in April.

Nice stint by DeLaTore tonight. Another great start from Lester. If we can get another gem out of Buch tomorrow we might just get outta' here winning this series....take that your smugness...Mr Maddon!

Unfortunately Buch isn't pitching tomorrow.

If i'm not mistaken, I think Douby is pitching tommorow. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Yup...that game was the 9th.....So it is Felix tomorrow. Would like to see the rotation get back to where it was. I really like the idea of sending Lester and Buch out there back to back.
