I'm actually going to watch this Dodgers-Yankees series, but as a baseball fan, not a Red Sox fan. Back in the day, this was such a great rivalry. First time Dodgers have played the Yankees in New York since moving from Brooklyn.

They have met in World Series in 1963, 1977, 1978 and 1981 since the Dodgers left Brooklyn. The rivalry ended in 1957 for Brooklyn. No one in the borough ever cared for them after that. As much as I hate the Yankees, it will be hard for me to pull for the Dodgers in this series.

 

I am very happy that we unloaded a bunch of money and cancerous personalities on the Dodgers last year.

Mariano has been off his game recently. 14 hits and 4 walks in his last 5.2 innings.

 

Four walks is strange, but the vast majority of those hits have been nothing more than bad luck. Poorly struck balls that found grass.

Sox actually got rid of someone at the right time for once. Youk and Beckett were traded at the perfect time. They just brought headaches to the teams that got them, which ironically are both sitting in the Yankee Stadium clubhouses right now.

I just don't get how Wells is still playing. He's hitting under .100 since the start of May. That's not a slump, that's the average of a layperson taking the dish.

The funny thing is, this Yankee team seems to pick and choose which games they are going to win. They come out of the gate dead or firing and there is no inbetween. First game yesterday, they were swinging well from the start. Today, they look dead with no sense of life in their ABs

BTW, why aren't we signing Manny Ramirez? Yeah, he looked washed up in Chicago, but I am sure he took a s*** ton of PEDs over the last 2 yrs and would be a hell of an addition if his roided ass can hit like a fraction of what he used to. Why the hell not? I don't care if he can only play 30 games before getting a lifetime ban for PED usage. We could use 30 games of offense from anyone right now

I wouldn't criticize them for not signing Ramirez. I just think it'd be funny. I miss the guy. That said I was nightmares of him playing for the Yankees back when he was in his prime in Boston.

He'd be terrible. He's as bad if not worse than Wells offensively and defensively he's worth than Lyle Overbay in the outfield.

The Yankees actually lost ground playing the easy part of their schedule. They finish out the month with three more against the Rays, three against Texas and then three against the Orioles. I'm looking forward to seeing them fight with the Blue Jays for fourth place.
