It's funny when fans get upset because the Sox don't sign a guy who disgraced himself and his team less than 6 months ago. How pathetic.
What poster is upset about the Red Sox not getting Melky. Again, your warped filter is at work again.

What is pathetic is when people read their own s*** into posts. Nobody said they wanted Melky...just that we wnat something to happen on the Red Sox front.

Jays want it all. I wonder if this is their last sign. The ALE gonna be a very tough division.
Their rotation lines up wirh Johnson, Morrow, Buehrle, Romero and Drabeck. Don't they also have McGowan and some others. Maybe they will be swapping some of those guys?

I didn't want Melky and his baggage as well, but you hate to see division rivals improve while the Sox remain the last place team that finished 2012.

I am kind of hoping Melky won't be all that much of an improvement, he has been unspectacular in he past. The Blue Jays sure are working hard though.

Can't even read any posts anymore because soon as someone gets picked up, Cherington is automatically a victim. Literally every player that gets picked up you guys rip him.

I don't think anyone really wanted Melky, at least I didn't. I am not really upset by this. The Jays are going to be pretty competitive next year, or at least have the potential to be. I will admit that I was jumping down BC's throat for not even making Hunter an offer, but moves will come with time. I think as more and more moves are made and we are not really making any, fans become more agitated. I trust BC to make some moves, but we still have a lot of offseason left. I expect between Thanksgiving and the winter meetings that we will start to see more moves.

There are only 2 ways this ends up. Fabulously, or god awful. Either Melky shows he is for real and the testosterone effects arent going to wear off, or he is going to suck massively and be a waste of a contract. The fact that Melky went out and signed a 2 yr deal shows me that he doesnt have a lot of faith in himself. If he went out and signed a 1 yr deal, lit it up again and went back on the market, he'd be one of the highest paid players on the market next yr

Cabrera has made less than $13 million in his career before this contract. Pretty hard to turn down $16 million. In the real world that's actually a fair amount of money.

I understand that he hasnt made a ton of money thus far and the $16 mil will effectively set himself up for life. But if he signed a 1 yr deal for $8 mil, he could have set himself up for a 5yr $75 mil deal next offseason
