I guarantee you they were drinking beer, etc in the clubhouse in 07 too, with Beckett, with Lester. And in 08, with Beckett, with Lester, when they went to game 7 of the ALCS.

A cerimonial shot before the game is different than drinking during a game. One built a team up, the other brought a team down. I think 04/07 are different than 11.

Pretty much spot on with this one iortiz. It's common sense.

 

I think the right manager could move this team in the right direction and I don't have the anti-Farrell view that many seem to have, but he's not worth anything substantial. If this team was loaded and on the cusp of dominance, it might be a different matter.

 

They should have just hired one of the guys they interviewed last year.
