Why on earth do people think Farrell is a good head coach. It is hard telling what the market will be in four years. Meaning BV will be here for at least that duration.

I think BV has that skill and can help Ben. Though their start was rocky, I think the two have developed an effective working relationship.

A cerimonial shot before the game is different than drinking during a game. One built a team up, the other brought a team down. I think 04/07 are different than 11. this

Was the LA trade/salary dump not a competent move? No one thought a GM could dump that much salary. Ben Cherington started with the crap hand that Tito and Theo left. I will not understand why they catch so much for this season. This season was in the making for the last 3 years. I also don't buy the 'fresh start BV needs to go' argument. All the BV hate comes from predetermined opinions and not on criticism of actual managing. He didn't even have a team to manage. Good lord his own staff pulled a mutiny on him. I'm in the BV fan club. Patriot and Sox fans are terribly spoiled and deserving these days. Neither seem to be humbled by memory of a not so distant past when the Patsies sucked, and the Sox constantly broke hearts.

Would he be able to work with a pitcher on mechanics? He was so strong a calling a game, but he wouldn't be doing that as pitching coach. I almost see him better suited as manager than pitching coach.

Ya I'm all for getting Tek in the system and get him some experience in the minors. I think he needs that time before he could coach the sox.

well first you put forth that BV should go because of the sox loosing record. He was brought in to win, and the record shows he didn't, period end of repot. So these talented players that you speak of, please demonstrate them to me in statistics. That was what Tito always f***ed up on. So you feel BV has not had a good handle on pitching changes this year? Is it worth it that McClure wasn't even talking to BV after visiting the mound, and in general pouting like a little child? Doesn't the manager only position the field players for certain key plays? It was so f***ed that BV was facing a mutiny by his own coaching staff. BV didn't get a fair trial. I think you don't like him from before the season and aren't basing it on anything done this year. But you don't like him, and thats your opinion, so be it. There may be a game plan upfront, but I was always under the impression that catchers called games.

I find BV straight talk with the media refreshing. If he isn't pleased with something he will say it. Lord knows the media does plenty of trolling. BV doesn't run his mouth just to prove his self worth, or cause trouble. I got very tired of Tito's politically correct PR, and 'keep the players happy' strategy. A coach is a leader, if he needs to call out players then so be it.

OK, well enough with the blanket statements. I've never heard that saying. You've compared BV departure against a non reality statement. People that hate BV just hated him at the beginning of the season and continue to do so with out any evaluation. Just suggesting firing all the players clearly indicates they are to blame. What are the top 5 reasons this year went down hill? I don't think any can be attributed to BV. Do you think line ups and pitching changes is why we're here now? Is it BV fault ellsbury, bailey, and crawford went down? Is it his fault the players are selfish and deserving. Just saying he was brought here to win, and he didn't, is backing out of the question. Maybe you'd be better suited as a WEEI caller.

THIS Pedroia showed some true colors this year with out his safety blanket (Tito) and they weren't pretty. He better fall in line. From Youk to McClure to recent house cleaning, management is clearly on board with V. I hope they lean on him this off season in evaluating the younger guys. All this chatter on WEEI about "2013 no play off rebuilding year" is so terribly ignorant. Being competitive is easily with in reach next year. Why are sox fans so horny about Farrell? Is it just because peeps in the Tito regime loved him so? Thats clearly not a road to follow. Allows will love the WS rings, but it's been a while since we've won a play off game, and there was way too much bad culture to clean up from Tito/Theo era.

Aceves is a known hot head. He acted immature and deserved the suspension. He has been commendable this year stepping up to take on a last second unexpected gap with Bailey going down. Really though he isn't cut out to close, and the numbers this year don't lie. I think he could be valuable in the bull pen next year, but with his attitude problem he might fall into the house cleaning thats taking place.

Why not? What are the criticisms that fall on him. So much of this year falls on the back of Theo, Tito and the bad clubhouse culture the grew under him, the players, and injury. What are your criticisms of V's coaching? All the idiots on WEEI ever whine about are stigmas about Bobby V from a decade ago that he has clearly matured past. Uggh. We've made so much ground this year getting rid of bad attitudes. Why bring IN a whining prima dona like Schwill?
