I would steer clear of JJ. He's an injury waiting to happen. We kinda have enough of those.

He'd be a bit of a gamble, fine, but when he's healthy he's an absolute ace.

EDIT: And you could probably get him at the same or less value than a guy like Grienke, and you'd get another year out of him.

I'd be for it if the price is reasonable. It's not worth betting a large number of plus prospects on a guy who has had the significant health issues he has had.

Especially with the apparent problems with our team's medical staff, how would you feel if we got rid of a future #2 or #3 starter or 2 for a guy who can't stay healthy?

Are you stating when we bring players in the are supposed to stay healthy? I have only followed the Sox for the past four seasons so that is news to me:D

He was quite healthy the initial part of the season yet was still sucking balls. The problem is that there seems no "absolute" health with JJ. Just relative health and an injury on the horizon.

He was fresh off TJS. He actually returned in like 9 months, and anything you ever hear about TJS is that you're not completely right until the 2nd year.

I like your sarcasm and sense of humor. Unfortunately, the medical staff's failures have played a part in this team's failures the past few seasons along with poor performance, poor decision making, and the rest of the issues we could spend hours discussing.

I don't think we need to get into much of an argument over here. You like JJ for the Red Sox, i don't. I think he'd be better in a team with a reliable conditioning program. That's about it.

I don't know if I believe that, Dice K got right back to form after his TJS

Wow, you must not have watched the sox at all in the 90's... This team wasn't going to be a 90+ win team forever. Every franchise (other than the Yankees since 1995) has ebs and flows. The sad part of it all is that we are wasting Lester, Buchholz, Pedroia, and Ellsbury prime years.
