It is a disadvantage but it's not a crippling one by any means. If the team that wins the play-in is playing good ball and on a roll they will still have a very legit chance to win it all.

 

Fairness is not greatly enhanced at all. You can still have a division winner with 85 wins and a wild card team with 95 wins.

Agree with both of you 100%. A one game play-in is a horrible piece of gimmickry. Selig is showing his true colors on this one. Anything to wring a few extra bucks out of the suckers' date=' and screw the integrity of the game.[/quote']If this team goes onto make the playoffs with 86 wins and gets hot for the one and only time this year, we will be cheering like crazy and loving it, but does this team deserve to win anything. Earlier in the season, people were saying that this is not a last place team. Well, we are knocking on the door of the trading deadline and we are in last place with an under .500 record.
