The ‪Red Sox‬ and ‪Marlins‬ are discussing a blockbuster trade that would send Carl Crawford and prospect to Miami for Hanley Ramirez and Heath Bell. ‪

Nonetheless, it would appear that they are trying to move him...I'm sure more than a few teams would have interest, but I'm sure we'd have to eat some of his contract...

How about Crawford and Pedroia for Cutch?

This is great, let's find a way to alienate Carl Crawford even more, just when it looks like he is ready to play well for us. MOTHER f***ING FO.

Yeah. And you're spending the same amount on Bell and HanRam. Give me Crawford over those 2.

I agree, although being how he is we may need to get rid of him now. Plays two bad games last year and a move to the 7 hole messes with so bad his entire year is shot. Now two good games and they are talking about shipping him. No telling how this will effect him.

But I have no interest in Bell. Our bull pen is fine and we will have Bailey soon enough. I do not see this freeing up enough money to help the club out much and I think a decent starter or two are the only things that will help us win more games this year.

Gammons just came on and completely denounced the Crawford Marlins idea. Said Rosenthal is his good friend, and that there's zero truth to the deal. Also said people have called about Crawford, but the Sox haven't called anyone about Crawford.

Also said that he's hearing that the Red Sox will be one of the finalists on Garza.

All good news IMO.

Does Ben have the balls to do this deal' date=' talksox peanut gallery?[/quote']

Garza is not a game changer. If they waste valuable prospects without moving Beckett, it'd be dumb. Seems like a pointless trade to me. Sox already have enough 2-5 type guys, why get one more?

While a Garza type would seem pointless from the perspective of actually going anywhere this year, the Sox are clearly having trouble figuring out how they are actually going to get through the entire year with enough starters. Bard is done...Felix will surely run out of innings as will Frank....that leaves them with Beckett, Lester, Buch and Cook....one short.

This trade would have made no sense. It would not have made us a better team and it would have cost us a prospect. You don't give up prospects in salary dumps.

At least they finally have the balls to give Carl the green light on the bases. This organization has become so backward in some ways. There are good reasons why they haven't made the playoffs lately.

Hanley may be getting hot again, but he has been running hot-cold all year. He would probably like to go back to SS, but he may have grown out of the position.

I would trust Rosenthal over Gammons at this point. Gammons is too close to the Red Sox to be frank--working for NESN.

Garza.. damn Theo is going to chew up an arm/leg to get him.. maybe Barnes/Sweeney.. ?

If the Sox have no place on their team for a prospect, they should trade him for a need.

It's difficult for young kids to get promoted in the Sox organization. Somebody has to get hurt.

Garza would be a good addition, but they are stuck with some bad starters right now, like Dice-K and Lester. It's like the Youks situation--almost.

Olney also denounced the rumors first off, and Gammons is typically extremely accurate on his reports. He reported last May that Lackey would need TJS. He reported the disconnect between Theo and Tito. And everyone called ******** on these too.
