I'm not reading the rest of this nonsense if a mod needed to step in.

I summarized it for you. No need to read thru this crap. PG in typical a-hole form. See page 14

Dice-K piched better than expected worse than what the Red Sox needed. At least he didn't bean anyone. So in that sense he did better than Bard did in Pawtucket. No, He was neither dominant nor was he as bad as he was before he went on the DL.

Game over, time to walk the dog.

I've laid out the argument for it clearly and simply. You've chosen to dismiss more advanced stats in favor of ERA and WHIP, and that's your right. We won't even come close to seeing eye to eye on pitching in most cases because you embrace an outdated approach that relies on how many runs are scored without considering what went into those runs scoring beyond the pitcher's effort.

Repeating the same thing over and over does no one any good (and I mean that for both of us, not just you) so I'm done talking to you about this today.

Again, I do respect the logic you usually use here, but I cannot see any logic in your position. I also think I have a decent grasp of baseball statistics. Two reasonably intelligent people can disagree. That is the case here. No hard feelings. This is the way all discussions ought to be here.

The point is that I cannot call a performance where a starter leaves his team in a pretty tough spot and gives up enough in walks and hits to have dug a 4-0 hole in 5 innings a dominant performance. However I just don't know why we would have expected a dominant performance from dice in his first ML start back.

Gio has pitched very well and the Sox hitters have not so far taken advantage of the opportunities they have had. This is something that has really been tough for me to swallow all season. If a guy is going pretty decent, you might get one, maybe two pitches an at bat that are worthwhile...pitches a hitter can do something with. You have to see enough pitches to recognize them and get your opportunities at them and then you have to do something with those opportunities. I won't go over Ortiz last at bat again but he got two pitches that were right where he likes them. He fouled off one and did not take a cut at the other.

I am not going after Ortiz particularly because he does wait for and recognize his chances for the most part. His at bat just provided a good way to explain the issue. In to many instances, the Sox don't make good enough plate appearances to recognize good pitches to hit, and don't do enough with them when they get them. Guy's going pretty good are not going to give you more than one or two good pitches to hit an at bat.

Ignore her. Nothing she says matter one iota to me. I mean ZERO. She is trying to get me into the kind of personal crap she enjoys and I am never going to do that again.

 Yeah, he was saying that when the Sox were down 1-0. Typical BS posts.

Well this is it. Score multiple runs here or hope all the other ALE teams lose today. This is our chance. We won't get many of them today.

Why are you singleing me out? Mind your own. If you don't get it now, you never well. No need to stoop down and defend your amigo that most people get so annoyed with.

Mighty Mouth is obviously playing hurt. Trouble is, he is hurting the team now. He should have been DL'd. That was a mistake. I would have forced him to the DL, no matter how much he objected, and brought up Ciriaco.

You are right! She has nothing meaningful to offer.

This is the second time in a row Morales has come in with the Sox down big time and needing innings. He is another guy I do not like to see in pressure situations but he seems fine when they ask him to come in already down 4 and 5 runs.
