Worse than Mark Gubicza or Hawk Harrelson?

No one is worse than Hawk. But I only have to hear him for 3 games per season. With the O's and Palmer it's EIGHTEEN times per season. So, ya know..........

Pretty nice game thread tonight. And nice how quiet the usual nay-sayers are. So makes it more enjoyable.

Winning is fun.

Doubt it lasts.

Game over. O's sweep, as usual.

Buchholz is a key starter. He tips the fulcrum--being #3. He pitches well, they do well, because Beckett and Lester are 1-2 and normally reliable (except Lester sucks right now). Still, Buchholz is key. Doubront has been making up for Lester. You got to have 3 reliable pitchers going at any time.

The other thing about Nava is that you rarely see him swinging at balls outside of the strike zone. He takes a lot of pitches.

Its going to be tough to send him back down.

Nava Ross platoon with Sweeney as a back up would not be a bad way to go once Ross gets back. I am so damned confused by who is going where at this point and the number of seemingly optimistic outlooks from the FO that I am no longer sure who is coming back when.

Something today about CC able to hit but still can't throw...not sure why that is even worth their time to report. We have a DH and he is even left handed!!!

Yeah, they really needed to break the losing streak at Fenway against the O's.

I really believe this team will come around. I don't think they have the pitching for a post season run though.

They are all good game threads...it is in the nature of forums to be contentious.

Agree. Tonite is good too; its tame. Winning big makes things soporific sometimes...not that its a bad thing.

They could go out and get it though. We will see how committed our FO is to making this team a real contender.

Losing to the O's sucks. Considering where I live and all. They are usually 12 games out by now.

I also believe the Sox will come around.

Too early for me to comment on the post season.

Celtics clawing back from a pretty bad start to this game tonight. Shame of it is that you get the feeling that if the C's would just step on their throats once the Heat would just pack their bags and head for the airport.

Gonzo waking the hell up tonight.

I thought he should be benced too, but hey, what the hell?!

He read talksox like Punto did. Now we really need to turn on Pedroia/Aviles.

We're up 6-0. DFA Aviles.

For those who don't get the pleasure of listening to Jim Palmer he just told the audience that the reason they call the pitch a "slider" is because it slides. Gee Jim I wonder why they call the curve a curve.

I've heard this one before. McCarver said "curves don't curve, but sliders slide."
