Aw man. I wanted this GT because I have a man crush on WMB.

Damn. At least you have his name in the title though.

SFF At The Game Mojo!!!

Let's trade places. Give me the tickets and I'll go. You can stay home, make the thread and listen to Rob Bradford for 4 hours.

Over under on 50% chance that youk is about to lose his job?

I'll take the over. I think WMB is going to actually get protection, get some fastballs, and absolutely rake.

I feel like youk deserves a little more time to get it together but if he isn't on the field and is crappy when he is then we have to give the kid a chance with how's he's been hitting in Pawtucket.

Youk officially to DL. That gives WMB about 10 or 11 games to prove he belongs.

If he can OPS around .800-.850, you keep him up because his defense is that much better. And this team needs some young players.

It'll be interesting to see if, on Saturday when Aaron Cook is on the bump, if they give Aviles a day off and let Middlebrooks and Iglesias vacuum up the left side of the infield. I bet they do.

I'd slide Aviles to third instead of benching him on Saturday.

No worse than Carlos Silva... It's just money.
It's just a waste of time. There is no upside to this. . . none, just as there was no upside to Carlos Silva or John Maine. These guys are beyond long shots. These cases need miracles.

Youkilis, Ellsbury, Crawford, and Bailey all on the DL by May3rd. They get to join the post op patients -- John Lackey and Dice K. This is shaping up great. This is spiraling out of control faster than it would have in any nightmare after a night of spicy food and bad liquor. We came into this season acknowledging that we needed to stay healthy to be competitive, because we have no plan B, and we are dropping like flies. I guess we will need to amend our optimistic outlook about remaining healthy and we can delude ourselves into thinking we will compete for the division as long as we have 25 warm bodies to suit up.

Look at those boyish good looks compared to ole Shrek over here...

There's nothing wrong with spicy food and bottom shelf liquor as long as you have the stomach for it.

I don't know - you really need a very talented infield with a lot of range for Cook to be effective. You may be right though. I think Iggy is the most important aspect of it. I am also not sure how much the organization is going to want to move Aviles back and forth, even for a day

Cook may not work out. I have been as skeptical as anybody has been with regard to his ability to pitch effectively in the AL East and yes he pitches to contact which can be a problem by itself in the AL East. I just don't understand why we would not give him a shot especially at this point in the season. If he does not work out what did we hurt? On the other hand can you just imagine the uproar if somebody in this division picked him up without us even having given him a shot and he ends up pitching against us! Geez my monitor would probably be smokin' hot just from coming to visit TalkSox.

In truth Buch might need a bit of a breather...who knows...we are always worried about the injury bug...Beckett has some stiffness now that may be nothing but may not be.

No offense to anyone. I'm excited to see WMB come up and get a chance. I hope he hits for the cycle. But don't be disappointed if he goes 0-4.

I still think it's too soon to put Youk on the shelf as well. If I'm wrong,

I'll be the first to admit it. We'll know more after his stint on the DL

Hoping for a good outing for Cook but not expecting much. Hope I'm wrong.

A team with way too many players going on the DL signing Mark Prior is like...a...I...

I can't even come up with an amusing simile. This is just awfully stupid. Mark Prior can't even high-five someone without shattering his clavicle.

Even though Youk has not been very impressive I think Middlebrooks would have to be very very impressive to bump Youk at this point. Not saying its right or wrong but I do think that is the way it is. If this turns into an endless string of injuries for Youk where he just cannot get healthy that could change in a hurry if Middlebrooks is performing.
