But I don't think so, since it will take $10-12 mil to sign him for one year, and they aren't going to pay that much to a #4 or 5 starter. Trouble is, one of the top 3 gets hurt, and that no.4 becomes a no.3.

 

The other thing is Oswalt is in decline--he isn't the pitcher he was in Houston and has a fragile back.

Don't think he's worth the money in the AL East.

Well it entertains us anyway and maybe that was what Manny had in mind all along. It does makes us think about who will eventually be put in a Red Sox uniform to more or less complete our starting rotation for 2012---and wouldn't it be a hoot if this time around they stay healthy for the whole season as the Rays rotation did back in '08.
