It's only fair. When things go the haters way, they constantly bump threads. Now they get a taste of their own medicine. Oh, how great it is to be a couch manager!

Nahhhh... We are only fans. Problem is that some people take this so seriously and what is worst, so personal.

And yeah.... We all here are couch managers hahahaha

DO you think that Koji knows that he is the instrument of Sox fans who hate Papelbon? I had no idea that Koji and Papelbon were competing with each other. Such hate for a player that helped bring us championship. Bizarre. Really bizarre.

RSFFL's point is that if people can bump up their own threads on the random (and rare) occurrence they are right, then they should have the same done to them when they are wrong. And thus far anyone that wanted us to sign (or trade for) Papelbon (which was a group that included myself at one point) was/is wrong.

I'm just saying. Papelbon was supposed to be "decline-proof" according to iortiz. Now that he's looking like s***, losing velocity and striking out less and less batters, we are beating a dead horse according to him, when he wouldn't shut up about it whenever a Sox pitcher blew a save.

Now we "take it too seriously". LOL

No hate my friend. I love Papelbon, hate the contract. We're getting better production at a cheaper price with Koji. I don't see why it's a problem when a thread is bumped if it happens every time the Red Sox f*** up. Tell me that's not true?

In all fairness Papelbon was/is and always will be an unclassy jackass. He's a locker room cancer that only cares about himself. In some ways he's not that different from Youkilis. I liked Papelbon/Youkilis when they were on our team, but when they weren't on our team their performance can't cover up for their personalities. At least Ramirez was a funny dick.

There is just a lot of affirmative Papelbon hate on this forum. It's bizarre that they take glee in a former Sox failures. Ingrates.

Am I not right? If they're going to do that, I ask that they be consistent with it. Don't bump a thread when you're only right. I've admitted multiple times when I was wrong, but that's a hard concept around here.

The last time it was bumped was in April. LOL!!

I'm not talking about this thread only. Latest example was SCM logging on(after not being here for months), bumping his own Jose Iglesias thread. That was just a few days ago.

Nothing personal, it's just for fun. If Koji sucked and Papelbon had the best year of his career, it'd be way worse.

Wasn't directed to u Mike.

Anyways.... I'm happy that Koji is giving us a chance to win some games, but mostly that this team seems to be in good shape for something serious this year..... Btw would be pleased to lose my bet with you my friend.

So iortiz, were you wrong when you said that "Papelbon is not going to decline during his current contract because he is a relief ace"? Because he is, for all intents and purposes, declining before our very eyes.

Just an honest question.

Hahaha bizarre fans.

Hopefully Koji post those numbers through, say... 9 years and become as good as Pap.

"You all hate Papelbon" is a lame excuse. People here simply said he wasn't going to be worth his contract. Well from all indications, that seems to be the truth.

This was totally unnecessary.

I'm sorry, i couldn't help myself. Took a lot of flak in GT's whenever a Sox pitcher blew a save. I'll stop now......

Wait, become as good as Papelbon? As if Koji isn't already better? It's not like Koji is older than Papelbon and hasn't been pitching well in Japan before coming over or anything....

Not to mention I'm excited to watch Papelbon's numbers the next few years. I can't wait to see what he's like at Uehara's league, or even if he's in the league.

Let me clarify myself. When he posts those numbers through the time Pap did as CLOSER, then... and only then...we can compare them, otherwise you are comparing apples with oranges.

I am just pointing out that no one has bumped a papelbon thread since April 6th and we have been through 2 closers this year before settling on Koji, who is doing great. The other two guys s*** the bed pretty hard. Add their 7 Blown Saves to the stats and the comparison doesn't look so good. Papelbon's fans have moved on. The haters have not.

They haven't, Koji just gives them a reason to stay quiet pops ;)
