I remember at the time thinking how wrong it all felt. Crawford was not in their plans....not on anybody's radar screen. It was a totally indulgent move. Anyway thank you Mr. Ellsbury.

In the year the Giants beat the Pats in the Super Bowl, before the NFC game against the Packers, I asked this same friend how he felt about the game. He said that only one thing worried him-- that the game would come down to a late field goal attempt or an OT attempt, because he had no confidence in the kicker. He missed one in regulation and one in OT is my recollection. My friend looked at me each time and said "what did I tell you?"

 

Today, we did not talk baseball, because I didn't want to. The funny thing is that the only Yankee he mentioned all day was Proctor. He brought him up out of the blue and was laughing about him and how bad he sucks. When I saw him coming in, I knew good things would happen. My phone will ring at 9 am sharp and he will say: "What did I tell you?" I swear that sometimes he gives me the creeps.
