I've been saving my next gamethread for a time of real need. I've had two 3 game winning streaks this year and am 6-2.

Time to turn this s*** around. Now is the best time of the season for a 3 game winning streak. Don't really care about the lineups or the starting pitchers, just win.

I have faith.

Aww' date=' man. He can go ahead and make the next thread. That's fine. I didn't know.[/quote']No problem. You get your GT mojo working. I'm bringing in-person mojo on Saturday and Sunday. My in-person mojo is usually better than my GT mojo. Let's win!!!

Irrational SFF: Holy s***, we're going to blow this. I can't believe we're going to miss the PS!

Rational SFF: We're still up 3 games. Weiland vs Hellickson heavily favored the Rays. We have Beckett and Lester going back to back. Wait until after Saturday's game before any real panic ensues.

so i lost my sunglasses at the bar last night...... (no i wasn't wearing them at night)..... i live in tampa, me and the whole family came out to watch teh gameat our local watering hole. we're a little loud and the whole bar knows we're sox fans, we're in our gear ready to go.... game is going well until the broken bat. i just knew that was a sign of things to come. every time we play the f***in rays s*** falls their way. then the longo blast. f***in rays fans ( who haven't been cheering all season) went apeshit! i lost it! i just left. walked out on the tab and left. my boy is was our waiter and he understood because he called me later, but i can't stand living in tampa and witnessing this happen to us! especially with fake ass tampa bay fans! that being said, tonight is a new night. i hope everyone on the team is as halfway frustrasted as i am, so they come out with a vengance!! i want to MURDER the rays tonight!! the type of karate kid "no mercy" type of murder!! i NEED this! we all NEED this!!!

you're facing off against one of the best pitchers in the league. Should be a good one

Well it's not going to be a game until this team starts making the pitcher pay with RISP. Too many times we load the bases with less than 2 outs and come away with 0-1 run. That's unacceptable when you're facing the Rays pitching staff.

Hopefully Beckett can come out and dominate. He's a big game pitcher, and he's had a lot of success against the Rays this year. I do feel better about this game than I did about last night's game, but I'm not making any predictions.

Hopefully with a win tonight we will have a chance to combine moji on Saturday and Sunday and give the Sox the boost they need. Thanks for being a nice guy.

Believe in the Sox. A win tonight puts them a long way towards the playoffs' date=' so what better pitcher to do it?[/quote']

If they can't win games like the one they have tonight (at home, mind you) then they don't stand a chance in the playoffs.

I'm still confident. This team is too good to be this bad for too long. Even their bad pitchers should be able to get them a s***** win here and there.

Hey Jacko, I Just read that he will require a surgery in the offseason, Can he come back plenty of his abilities after this kind of surgery?

Kevin Youkilis to sit out Friday vs. Rays

BOSTON -- Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona announced after Thursday's 9-2 loss to the TampaBay Rays that third baseman Kevin Youkilis will not be in the lineup for Game 2 of this series on Friday.

More On The Red Sox

It's obvious Youkilis is hurting and is still bothered by the bursitis in his hip and the sports hernia he's been dealing with. He was in Thursday's starting lineup and was able to play six innings, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, but he was replaced by Mike Aviles in the top of the seventh inning.

"He's sore and he's not going to play tomorrow," Francona said. "Actually talked to him before the game a little bit and had a good talk with him. We'll watch him. He's nowhere near pulling the plug on the season, or anything like that. But it's pretty obvious he's struggling out there."

Youkilis said earlier this week that he needs to have offseason surgery to repair the hernia, but he thought it was something he could play through until that point.

I'll probably be more focused on this one than the Yankees game. This is easily the most excited I've been for a non-Yankees game all year.

For all of us as well my friend, for all of us; a lot of morbidity out there, Seems like Goliath is already injured this time before the fight and David looks just fine. This will be a street-dogfight, you bet. Can't wait.

Hope we end this victorious after all.

Scuts has been one of the few Sox playing well down the stretch.

Reddick has seemingly slowed his free fall. Wish he'd have a little more power though.
