Is is just me' date=' or does that lineup look a lot less fearsome without Gardner and A-rod?[/quote']

A-Rod hasn't been tearing it up this year either.

He looked super slow even when he was in the lineups earlier in the season.

ARod with a bat in his hands wearing a blindfold scares me much more than Gardner. I'd rather see Gardner in the lineup against Lester instead of Andruw Jones. Gardner wouldn't make contact with Lester. Jones took him way deep the last game that he faced Lester. Not too many people take Lest deep like that.

I think Brett Gardner is the most underrated Yankee TBH

The dude is a terrible hitter and his only offensive asset is his speed. .718 OPS is like WTF, even catchers should have higher OPS than that. He was good offensively last year, but this year he's pretty much just junk. If he can have that .385 OBP like last year, that's all he needs to be a serious weapon, but when his OBP is .345, its just not very good to utilize his speed. Thats the thing with speed players and why they decline early in their careers. While speed itself doesn't diminish quickly, when they can't drive the ball pitchers will start being aggressive=less walks to add on to OBP=no chance to utilize speed. IMO, even if Gardner returns to 2010 form, which isn't out of the question, he will be washed up by his early 30s like most of the players with his skill set.

He's a bit worse than the others too, as it pertains to the pitcher's approach. Most of his type of player will a least be aggressive with strikes in the zone. Not Gardner. He looks at more strikes and strikes out looking more than almost the entire league. Dude is up there looking to do one thing, walk, and I think pitchers are figuring this out.

EDIT: Leads the league with the lowest Z-Swing% (percentage of pitches in the strikezone that are swung at) among qualified players at 50.1%. I think his struggles will continue until he proves he can do something to those pitches in the zone.

I got a felling that this is A-God's night.

The table is served, Burnett is pitching and our Lefty should make the job, so... WIN!

A while back I predicted that he'll be gone from the Yanks in a couple of years. After the 2013 season at the latest, he'll be the 4th OFer on another club. He's not even as good as Melky.

AGon has to start earning some Yankee killer stripes. Hitting 1 and change against the Yankees is not going to cut it. I don't care if he hits .350 against the rest of the league.

 Yeah, what are the other 144 games worth in the grand scheme of things?

The Sox are 11 and 3 against the Yankees without A-Gon batting .900 against them, I think he'll be fine.

I may have overstated things a bit. Lol! It's not like I'd be calling for him to get cut. It is important that he do well against the Yankees. He can'tr leave that task to Ortiz every night.

I wanna see Burnett flip the middle finger to Girardi so they better destroy him.:D

Burnett is already on the outs. If he loses tonight and if he loses big I think we could potentially see Burnett losing his s*** right on the mound.

We could witness an epic meltdown tonight.

Lets just hope Burnett didn't make a deal with satan since last night. lol

True, it would be nice to see him produce more against the Yankees, but to me, if he doesn't, the Sox have enough guys who can that I don't think it will ever be detrimental to the team.

Well, the first couple of the series he did great... If I remember well, he homered CC.
