Why would you pinch hit for Varitek, who can hit decently, but not for Navarro, a rookie who can't hit well? That makes no sense to me. Is it the risk of Varitek hitting into a DP? Even that is a s*** reason.

 

Hitting a fly ball that deeply to end a game is a lot less s***** than hitting a fly ball that deep with only 1 out and then having someone who can't hit come up and end it with a damn K.
