And last I checked the Red Sox had the second best. So much for their biggest weakness going into the season.

Go down the lineup and look at the production of the Red Sox LHd batters against LHP.

The production numbers are way down per at bat.

There's a good reason why they face a lot of LHd pitching.

I am surprised that the cubs stayed quiet and didnt trade any of their players with their crappy record.Including Zambrano.

Gotta find a buyer. Z just doesn't have a lot of stock value right now.

I would not feel comfortable with him pitching for us at all, but if Chicago ate the salary and gave him up for peanuts, I'd take a flier on him. So in other words, I doubt he's coming to the Red Sox.

Id be much more comfortable with Zambrano than I would be with Wakefield or Miller.

I wouldn't trust any of them. Zambrano, last time I checked, is in the midst of the worst year of his career and is expensive and I'm sure Fenway wouldn't be kind to his numbers.

The Sox had a deal in place to acquire Kuroda for Tim Federowicz and another prospect Saturday night, reports McAdam, but the righty rejected it. The Kuroda talks were later used as a base for GM Theo Epstein to acquire Trayvon Robinson, who they sent to Seattle in the Bedard deal.

Is it safe assume then that Kuroda will never sign a deal with or approve a trade to an AL East team?

Kuroda is dumb.LMAO.He must love the losing. Can anyone tell me the prospects that we gave up for Bedard?

I can imagine his wife,

"Honey, how come you no take trade?"

"I want to stay in LA, for us, for our family."

"f*** you, I want World Series ring, make up for small penis."

*loud argument, cursing in Mandarin*

NOTICE: Do not expect me to care if you're offended by the blatant racism involved in this post.

Well clearly it's not working because they went 20-6 in July.

As far as Aviles (I think Pal mentioned him), this guy is completely underrated. The guy hit .325/.354/.480 in his rookie year as a SS! That's crazy good.

This year, he's hitting .222/.261/.395. This is, in large part, due to a .231 BABIP, down significantly from his .312 career BABIP. His line drives are down and his fly balls are up. I'm not sure how much of a pull hitter he is, but I can see that monster really boosting his average, especially against LHP.

He's also not Scutaro

Very well said

Seriously. When is this guy going to get a start? I wanna see if this guy is going to me an upgrade.

I'm kinda po'd he's not in the lineup tonight.

Aviles is not Reyes. He was a bench player for KC.

Right, but a bench player is exactly what this team needed. To stress my point further, he has a .944 OPS against lefties this year. Yeah, despite the .230 BABIP.

On another note-- why hasn't Doubront's name been coming up much? In 13 starts at Pawtucket, he has a 3.20 ERA this year with a 1.22 WHIP, and nearly 8 K/9. I bet he's a much better option than most of the guys in this rotation right now.

Heck, he was sent down to the minors in early June. He didn't resurface until last week when Wilson Betemint was traded to the Tigers.
