Can you link to a legit source that says Wilpon's being forced to sell the Mets?
Do your own research Dutchy. He has also been reported to have lost $700 million in the Madoff Ponzi scheme. That will put a crimp in the style of a billionaire.

Fact is that he had to take on a partner. The partner is hoping to gain a controlling interest in the team. Do you think he took on the partner because he was looking for a lunch buddy? The stories about his financial woes have been out there for over 2 years.

You stated there were a bunch of stories out there that Wilpon's being forced to sell the Mets and you can't provide a single one? Something smells like haddock.

Wilpon is lucky he hasn't been implicated in Madoff's problems.

He should have sold the team by now--but owning the Mets is his fetish.

Yes, I am making it up. I have a vendetta against the Wilpons. Google it yourself. The possibility of them being forced to sell the team has been speculated about several times in the last couple of years. Dutchy, are you going to ask me for proof of my employment like you have done in the past?:lol: It's too funny how you always gravitate back to this forum.

Yes' date=' that makes so much sense, and all those stories floating around about them being forced to sell the team are just created out of thin air.[/quote']

Are there really any legitimate stories that say Wilpon's being forced to sell the Mets or are too childish to admit you were misinformed?

I was minformed Dutchy. Same old Dutchy.

We should just make a whole lineup of leadoff hitter types and have them write out their own lineup before the games.

Why do you call everyone who disagrees with you Dutchy? That's 2 people within the last 2 hours.
You are Dutchy. Definitely.

BTW: One of the first things that comes up if you do a Google search about Wilpon's finances is the video from the Wall Street Journal in the attached article. He references the several stories, the $700 million and many of the things that i have referenced. There's a start to your research. I already read the stories and heard the reports. Find them for yourself Dutchy. I await your departure and next incarnation.:lol:

It's painfully obvious that you've done the research and you can't find a single legit story stating that he's being forced to sell the Mets. But if it makes you feel better, continue calling me and all the other posters who disagree with you Dutchy.

I made up the whole financial distress issue about the Mets. There's nothing to it. Flame out with some other poster Dutchy.

No one's saying you made up the fact that Wilpon's in financial distress. I've said that everyone knows he's in financial distress so that couldn't be any more of a straw man. I'm saying that your claim of there being a bunch of stories about Wilpon being forced to sell the team is untrue. I know it's untrue because I've been following the story since it became news. Is it really this painful to admit you made a minor mistake?

There have been plenty of stories speculating that they will ultimately have to sell the team. The recently invested partner has placed a sizable wager on that outcome. Didn't you read about that either? Did you read that they had borrowed money from MLB, and that MLB cut them off and told them to take on a partner? You haven't changed a bit.

I've read all the stories. None of them state that anyone is forcing Wilpon to sell the team. But you already know that.

Post a picture of yourself so you can get banned again. I am putting you on my ignore list. You'll be gone soon enough because you just can't help yourself.

edit: You are the first poster that I have put on the list in over 25,000 posts.

Wilpon's problem is he is a close friend of Madoff, and one of the few who made a lot of money with Madoff in spite of Madoff's scams. Consequently, the losers are suing him as well to get their money back. One of his friends has kept the Mets solvent by buying a minority ownership. If you read up on Wilpon, you find that he is obsessed with owning the Mets, and won't give up controlling ownership unless he is forced out.

I just read an entire page of "I know you are, but what am I?" posts.

As stated earlier, if the Mets want a top tier prospect, then I would rather play out the season with someone else.

Is this:

consistent at all with this:

You do realize Wilpon's a billionaire' date=' right? He doesn't need to dump $6 million in baseball salaries to come up with that money.[/b']

Go pick your fight elsewhere. You are back on ignore.

WHY DO WE NEED MORE OFFENSE???

Pitching rotation needs help. Ugh.

I thought, It was just me. I can't imagine how devastating could be if one or more of our top 3 gets injured, I just can't. Let me see.. we would go with Miller?, Lackey?, Wake? Damn! if you like +300 money-lines, there are your odds.

I haven't seen this much distilled passive-aggressive in one place since my last family reunion.

I figured I'd throw out a list of the starting RF from non-contender teams.

Jeff Francoeur (RH)

Michael Cuddyer (RH)

David DeJesus (LH)

Kosuke Fukudome (LH)

Hunter Pence (RH)

Seth Smith (RH) (3 more cost controlled years)

Andre Ethier (LH)

Carlos Beltran (RH)

Ichiro(LH)

It looks like the only realistic options on the market are Francouer, Beltran, and Cuddyer. They may find a player who could convert from center/left, but I seriously doubt that Theo will go for another LH OF.

I would like Andre Ethier, but from the realistic options....Beltran or Cuddyer, I wouldn't accept less. If they don't come, give the job to Reddick.

Of that list, I like Smith the best.

BTW don't overlook some of the centerfielders. Melky Cabrera is a definite option if all you want is a roleplayer.
