Mods checked his IP and confirmed it wasn't him but I'm still convinced it's him. His posting style is so obvious he can't cover himself up for s***.

 

My IP changes all the time. You can both fix your IP to be whatever you want it to be, or use a Proxy to fix those issues.

Just like people have to right to bitch she has the right to complain about those who bitch.

 

But it's pointless. In reality bitching/having concern about the team and it's players is a lot more relevant on a message board, and an actual contribution than always posting "stop bitching etc." posts. If you don't like what people are talking about you can just ignore it. Simple as that.

Look at this. 9 straight wins and we still can't be happy. Remind me not to stay on this site when we lose.

 

I personally am thrilled with the 9 straight...made it all the way back to .600 ball....however, that does in no way give JD Drew a pass for hitting .230 and looking like my grandmother at the plate...two entirely different issues...just 'cause something is working, even well, doesn't mean it can't be made better.....

Drew needs to have dinner with Big Papi and AGon to talk hitting. I'd bet that it would help.

Drew went 0-5 today right? What was the final score again? That's right 14 count em' 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13, FOURTEEN f***ING RUNS. If he went 5-5 would we lose? No, exactly so the bitching isn't neccessary. Stop bitching just to bitch f*** you people are annoying.

OK, try this one....when we come to a 5-4 game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th and Drew comes up and waves at three curves to end the rally, I would guess that you then would start with the "f*** Drews'" all over the place....now is the time to somehow get him out of the lineup..because with him not there, we will be much better off.

You also have someone who's going to die of a heart attack and never enjoy the good in life. If you want to complain about everything in life so be it, but if people were laid back and carefree, this world would be a different place, much better too. Relax and enjoy the winning.

 

Besides, the guy you're defending is obviously BOY on either someone elses computer or a proxy. You're defending BOY man. Who wants to be on the same side as him, of all people.

Yes I see your point about winning. It's great we did. It's not about finding the bad when it's not needed. Not everything is sunshine and lollipops. The entire point of sports is to have a team that performs to the best of their abilities and while this team is performing well Drew is not and that needs addressing. You don't let s*** slide because everyone else stepped up.

 

And that Pedroia comparison is ridiculous. There has been plenty of concern surrounding him. We've all expressed it. No one is letting it slide. But no one is going to ridicule him like Drew because unlike Drew, Pedroia has a few medical issues but has still been able to perform at a higher level than Drew has.

Oh yeah? How about that time Drew hit the game winning single in extra innings. Remember that? Clown. I'm not expecting everyone to praise Drew but if you're going to rip on him have a decent reason. Honestly is Drew hurting this team? Now shoo you're wasting my time.

EHHH wrong. You missed the point, which is that if you piss and moan all the time, and if you're never satisfied, you can never enjoy things as they happen. Here, I'll put it in quote format so you can understand better:

 

"You show me a man who's not satisfied, I'll show you a man who's pooping the party and will never have happiness from the great things around him".

There's a difference between bitching about JD Drew and looking at the team and addressing a big hole on the team. You can't expect the team to hit .350 all season and score 15 runs a game (Yea. Over the past 2 games, we've averaged 15 runs per game :thumbsup: that just sounds awesome).

 

Regardless, JD Drew is a big hole in the line up. Cam is also a big hole. What it boils down to is that RF should be a power hitting spot, or at least a 20 HR/80 RBI spot. JD Drew has provided that for us in the past, but right now he isn't giving us that production, and it's not like he's snake bitten either. His Contact% is consistent with career norms, his LD, GB, and FB% are all within 3% of career norms. He's just making incredibly weak contact and his swing looks awful, to be blunt.

 

If there were no options out there that would make the team better, we would just have to put up with it and hope that the line up around him makes up for his lack of offense, but you've got Carlos Beltran who is hitting .288 with an .884 OPS while playing 1/2 of his games at Citi Field. And if you don't think that's significant, look at how Bay has conformed to the new park. Then there is Josh Reddick, who came up and showed us that he's quite possibly ready to make the transition.

 

The bottom line is this - there's bitching, and there's talking about improving the team. Just because we've played well the past few weeks doesn't mean this team doesn't have any holes on it, and it would be careless not to address these holes.

I'm overjoyed with the Sox. Sorry if I trolled this gamethread into JD bashing time. Wasn't my intention. Next time I post it'll be to praise JD.

According to the ESPN Stats and Information crew, Dustin Pedroia's fifth-inning blast off of Kyle Drabek of the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday did something his previous 58 career home runs had never done: it traveled over 400 feet. The official Home Run Tracker distance for Pedroia's home run is 415 feet, with a speed off the bat of 106.5 m.p.h.

 

Pedroia's previous longest home run distance was 396 feet, which he reached twice in his major league career. The first occurrence was on June 24, 2009 off of Jason Hammel at Coors Field. The other came on May 25, 2011 off of Mitch Talbot at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

 

The 106.5 m.p.h. speed off bat registered on Pedroia's home run Sunday was the fastest such ball he's ever hit. His previous fastest speed off bat came on April 10, 2010 off of Luis Mendoza at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. That home run traveled 386 feet.

 

Sweet. Look how good this team is when Pedroia is clicking. It's really unbelievable.
