ARod no longer has the bat speed to hit a good FB

The end of that contract is going to be brutal.

6 out of 7 against NY. I don't think the Yankees have the pitching to beat the Red Sox.

Oh yeah right, Colon and Garcia are aces and you don't even know it.

This is embarrassing but I don't even remember the Yankees' rotation. There's a guy named Nova on there right? Sabathia is still their ace? Who else is on it?

Sabbathia, Burnett, Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia, and Nova is in their rotation I think

I think that a team like the NYY doesn't deserve a rotation like this, CC and Burnett are the only rescuable. Garcia and Colon suck...Nova?, well put it this way... is a coin flipping. They surly will go for someone before the trade deadline.

There was no intent' date=' obviously. But the result is that Tex is out tonight and may be our for a long time. You dont let a team get away with that. Girardi has some class, so I doubt he'll headhunt, but someone on your team is getting drilled tonight. [b']Bet on it[/b]

Oh boy, what do I win?

Yup. Already clearly declining at age 35, and they have him until 41.

I'm not sure what this means, but I do agree that the Yankees need another starter. I know it's June, but it's hard not to think about the playoffs here. Sabathia/Burnett is a very good front two, but after that there's not much. As a Sox fan I would love to see Colon and Garcia getting starts in the playoffs. When is Hughes coming back?

Hughes will probably be back in early July, Girardi suggested last week that Hughes could be back before the All-Star break.

In the 9th inning why would Tito hold the runner Gardner with no one out and play DP depth leaving the second base hole wide open. Jeter in that situation is like a pull lefthanded hitter. He always goes to RF in that situation and he flew out to RF. We opened up the second base hole for him. With a 3 run lead, aren't outs more important? After Jeter flew out, they played behind the runner and closed up the second base hole when Granderson was up. Why do it when Granderson was up, but not for Jeter? Was the came going fast for Tito, or did he just wake up when Granderson was batting?

Did you get a chance to advise Tito of your concerns after the WIN last night?

I'm not trying to be a bitch but your constant criticism of Francona is really really getting old.

Couldn't you have shared a positive experience from being at the game last night?

My observation about the New Yankee Stadium is that it is not the intimidating venue for opponents like the old stadium. It is not intimidating at all. The place is so big and open with its open air concourses that fan noise disperses, whereas the fan noise in the old place stayed concentrated and directed at the playing field. The crowd is also much more mellow. I was in the upper deck, so I expected to see plenty of fierce hatred. It was quite the opposite. It was a very pink hat-type crowd. They were having an evening out as opposed to watching a fierce tense rivalry. My Met fan friend note the same thing. It could be that they priced out the Hooligans. The upper deck seat was $40 in LF. The advantage that the Yankees used to get from the 10th man, i.e. the crowd, no longer exists.

It would be nice if you just addressed my strategy question instead of leveling an attack at me.

First of all, this strategy of holding the runner in the 9th inning with a 2 run lead or more while playing double play depth and opening up the second base hole is something that I see throughout baseball. Me and my friend notice it and it baffles us, especially when a lefty is up. If you would like to address yourself to the strategy question, I look forward to reading your thoughts.

As for criticizing Tito, he is my all-time favorite Red Sox manager, but that doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot when it comes to game decisions. I'm not the only one who notices, and it is a legitimate topic for debate. If you don't want to engage in it, you don't have to, but don't tell me who or what I can criticize. That is getting old.

I don't feel that I "attacked" you. In fact, I put some thought into the post b/c I know how sensitive you can be. I have ignored your constant criticism of Francona. But after last night's WIN I had to say something. If we had lost I could understand. So I apologize if I upset you.

As for the strategy question, I have no idea what the heck you are talking about. In the

9th last night, I was stressed about Paps giving up a run and worried he'd blow the save. I don't analyze the game with the same depth a lot of you out here do. To each his/her own.

"Attack" was a poor choice of words on my part. I was not offended, but dissecting strategy moves is legitimate discussion, and since even very good teams will lose 60-70 games and play dozens of other very close games, there is a lot to discuss. That's just the way it is.
