Which way? So I can go the opposite way. The Sox season was over at the all star break last year according to you remember?

And how'd it turn out. Thanks for reminding me how right I was

You're right' date=' losing your most valuable player for a month and a half won't have any affect on the standings whatsoever.[/quote']

Granderson, CC and Cano have been better. And, we're already through almost 2 weeks thus far.

I'm not impressed by Colon's start. We'll see how he does against a team that can actually hold a bat and take a pitch outside the strike zone.

Who am I?

Oh please. Half our team was injured. I'd love to see the Yankees without Cano, Granderson, and Tex. Lets see hpw that works out. You can't pat yourself on the back when we actually had a chance to win the division or wildcard. We didn't trail the Yankees by much and that "final nail in the coffin" was bull. Like honestly only a homer would say the Sox are out of the race at the all star break. Give me a break.

And only a homer would say that the Yankees have locked up the wild card race with 40% of the season to go. Consider the source.

I also think he has another one called bbdoc or something like that. Someone will confirm though.

I got a friendly PM stating he's had at least 3.

No, it's real. When they figured out he made multiple accounts no one cared and actually told the mods to keep him. Whether he is Dutchy or not who cares he's not really bothering anyone. I've always liked him on his other account Yaz_Sideburn. Jacko needs to drop it because he's not going anywhere.

Dutch, you've had about 6 names. And, when I first came here after the herald site went down, we all got banned then allowed back. Unfortunately, our names were banned for good. I got banned for behavior once, in 2006. Duchy has been way more recent and way more frequent

It doesn't matter whether he made 2 or 200 accounts. You can't call him out for something when you did the same exact thing. It's against the rules to make more than 1 account on talksox. If anything if he gets the boot you should too. He's not going anywhere so leave it at that. You shouldn't be worrying about Dutchy anyways, you need to get off talksox and worry about your kid.

Go make another account so you can talk some more about how it's only a matter of time before the Yankees are in first.

Mo looked terrible today. He gave up 4 hits before getting bailed out on a screaming line drive down the first base line with the bases loaded that Teixeira caught and doubled off the runner on first. That was nearly his 5th blown save.

Terrible is harsh. Seven balls in play ... only two of them hit hard.

No, he was terrible. Everything was straight and he wasn't hitting his locations. All of the hits against him were legit and the hardest hit ball of the inning was probably the line drive down the line that got him out of the jam.

If you think the first three hits in the 9th inning were hit well then you're absolutely wrong. Those were good cutters (especially to Crisp and Weeks) that were hit towards the trademark into the right spots. If you have MLB.TV go back and re-watch ... if you remain objective I think your opinion will be different about those hits.

EDIT: To think those balls were hit hard you would either have to be not watching, completely biased, or both.

Those were not typical Mo cutters. They caught way more of the plate and cut a lot less than he intended. Go check out where Martin was setting up and where the pitches ended up.

The first hit was definitely legit. It was a straight fastball left right down the middle that was by Cano by the time he got over there. The only hit that possibly could have been turned into an out was the second one that Cano got to but couldn't glove but that would have taken a tremendous play.

It looked like batting practice. Mo was grooving pitches and they weren't cutting. I get that he's Mo, but there's no need to get personal over the fact that he looked bad today.

Whether or not balls in play have a chance to be turned into an out has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the ball was hit hard. That point isn't relevant.

Here's what I'd say about each ball in play.

Pennington: hit weakly

Sogard: hit weakly

Weeks: hit decently hard

Crisp: hit weakly

Matsui: hit weakly

Willingham: hit hard

Dejesus: hit hard

I admit that his cutter wasn't moving as much as it normally does, and his location was perfect like it usually is. He's almost always better than that and maybe by his standards that's terrible, but overall it isn't. Seven balls in play ... four hit weakly ... two hit hard ... and one in-between is not terrible by any standard except the one Mo sets.

And where am I getting personal? Being honest and portraying poor points as poor is not getting personal, it's merely being honest.

It's Rivera, the hitters aren't going up there trying to hit home runs. If Rivera had his typical location and movement, which you've acknowledged he was lacking both of, he would not have given up 4 hits and gotten bailed out on a line drive that likely would have plated the winning run. Just look at where he was throwing the ball.
