and the fact that when he gets burned' date=' he cannot forget it.[/quote']

i think it's more an issue of the league realizing that he rarely throws his slider over for a strike and sitting on his fastball

That too. His last few appearances, I have seen him locate the slider a bit more which is probably why he's been so dominant.

And that he so rarely hits his spots with his slider.

i remember when he first came up, it was almost comical watching hitters swing and miss on his slider off the plate time and time again

Jon Miller is a retard. "and with that hit, Jeter passes Babe Ruth for most hits in Yankees history." Wrong. He passed Babe Ruth on the all-time list. Ruth had hits on the Braves and the Red Sox as well. Jeter already leads the Yankees, after passing Gehrig last yr

I actually meant to say fastball, but the same holds true for his slider.

What game are you watching? He's pushing long counts and grooving pitches regularly. Bad Beckett definitely showed up today.

That should turn those into earned runs now.
Bad scoring. That play should have been an error all the way, not a hit and an error. The ball was hit sharply. There was plenty of time to make the throw.

i thought he was looking pretty good until the error

I disagree. With Gardner's speed, I don't think even a good throw gets him. Hall should have held onto the ball.

Hall would have needed to get to a knee to make a good throw, and it would have been bang-bang even if the throw was perfect. I have no problem with them calling it a hit. Hall never should have thrown the ball

it looked as if gardner would have been out if the throw was accurate but it's pretty standard to give the baserunner the benefit of the doubt on plays like that

Sure they are two years old' date=' but that's kind of the point. He's still doing the stupid things he was doing two years ago. When he stops doing them, then this defense of him will be valid.[/quote']

Ah. Granted he may have an I.Q. lower than 120. He may need help lacing his cleats.

But. He has speed and has raised his BA to. "'300" . And he can steal 60-70 bases. You just can't teach that stuff. He's the most exciting player since Lou Brock. Within that genre.

Given his short ascension through MiLB, I think he has room to improve.

I'd like to see him in Boston for the next 5 years.

3 more innings out of the lottery ticket' date=' then cash him in[/quote']They caught a tremendous break by scratching Burnett. We light him up when he is pitching well. Right now, he is pitching terribly. We would have run him off the mound by this point.

Of course he has room, I'm just waiting for him to start showing some signs of it. The next step for him is an improved approach. He'll have a hard time improving his numbers if he continues to play into the pitchers' gameplan.

Moseley reminds me of Aaron Small. High 80s, sinker, slider, change guy with good command.
